Different viewpoints depending on how somebody may interpret your opening comment...

If you had already bought the product in a deal why would you be looking to buy it again?

Or, if you needed subsequent examples of the same product, why not just buy from the same source again.

---

Why is the deal listing that others used to source their product the "right one" for you?
Shouldn't you take into account the elements of a deal as they apply to you, not to anybody else?

---

Does the deal temperature have some bearing on somebody's decision?

Would the ability to "Like" the thread be a similar approach?

If you could search for deals that reached a certain temperature & with specific keywords would that be useful?

Without the ability to order search results based on the "Number bought" tally then you would have to look at every matching result anyway.

Like the more expensive deals with companys that misprice then charge you etc. so not for you teabags offer but for example.

The Studio24 offer for 360 250GB and kinect and 2 games for £233 having charged people I wanted to be able to track other peoples progress and try and use the loopholes that they found talking to customer service etc. and then I wanted to share my sucess and how I managed to get the xbox.

(Now I know there is recent posts but a month had passed before there was success)
But sharing and tracking the progress with other would have been alot easier and the search on here sucks so this is a different way.

So basically I see the deal about and I buy it and forsee there may be problems OR that I may want to tell people the quality of the product after I use it for a while (like a budget product that people are wary of getting)
So I click some button that adds it to my own personal list which is linked to my account
Then when I want to go back to share with other users or ask for help I can easily

Obviously this is mainly aimed for electrical products and expensive goods.

fanpages I dunno what you mean and think I may not have expalined my original idea well enough?

Hi Ben,

If you wish to add something to your "personal list" you can use the [Subscribe] link.

Or you could start a "Misc" thread about it & then the thread would be in your "Active Deals" [yeah... I know] list in your Profile.

However, you have pre-empted an incoming change to the site.

There has been a "Saved Deals (0)" section in my Profile for almost a week now; but no way of adding anything to the list I am presuming will be displayed below it.

Well, I'm presuming it is going to be implemented to a greater degree than just a separate panel in a member's Profile.

They doesn't seem to be any way to interact with it either in the Profile page or otherwise.

Another option for you...

Bookmark (set a Web browser "favo[u]rite") any deal threads that have influenced you to purchase an item. Place all these bookmarks in a separate folder so you can find them quicker than using the search facility at HotUKDeals.

Alternatively, use Google & append SITE:HOTUKDEALS.COM at the end of your search criteria whilst looking for keyword text in deals you know have previously existed.

Finally, create a "Private Message" of "saved threads". Send it to yourself (so you have a copy in your "Sent" items & your "Inbox"). Reply to it with new threads as you progress. When you receive the updated message, delete the previous one.

Use a text file (or word processing document, or any form of computer file) to store the deals.

Pen & paper.

Memory.

:)

Turns out the save deals button does work, a few problems, it's only on the mobile version, they appear in your profile, you can't access your profile from the mobile site (making it useless), it doesn't recognise you've saved the deal if you refresh/leave the page so you think it hasn't worked.Once again a poor implementation.

It would make more sense if the implementation was the other way around; flag deals for easy recall to the "Saved Deals" in the non-mobile site so you can quickly return to them whilst mobile.
