so if you try +sony +official, does it show up on your advanced search?

Do you have "include expired" selected by your view options.

Near top of screen after you click "advanced".

thanks

I had to change the view options to this to find it. Now I understand it but I bet loads do not hence they post dupes. The text needs changing somehow.

View Options:

Full Details

Exclude Expired

Show Online Deals Only
Best way is:-

as there are only 2 possible values per each of the 3 options, they should really be 3 checkboxes titled as follows:-

View Options: Full Details Exclude Expired Show Online Deals Only
The default when unchecked being Text only/include expired/all deals

Much clearer

Worth looking at imho.

I'm surprised The Saint didn't pick it up.
He had a pop at me about a month ago regarding the search function.
Came over like he knew all about it and how to use it.
Obviously he doesn't.

Why would someone be posting a dupe of an expired deal? :?

I get where you are coming from but someone may have the view option to :-

View Options:

Full Details

Exclude Expired

Show All Deals
To the novice (including me!), this would show ALL DEALS which it plainly now does not.

I'm just making a point that this could be tidied up to be checkboxes or radio buttons. I can't recall anywhere else where options of 2 values are set with a pseudo hyperlink (and no, I don't need pointing to other examples thanks).

I'm a computer programmer (cobol, db2, html) and have been making a false assumption since I joined so I can't be alone

it's something to consider as it is only a 10 minute fix for the dev team.

It must be us computer nerds then.
I'm a computer programmer ( redundant ) and it took me ages to figure it all out.
Can I get a job on the team, part time, working from home please.

I did pick it up, but I can't be bothered to explain the same thing over and over again to users that should know better.

I found the "missing" thread within seconds.

I worked for the same company for more years than I care to mention.
Got a decent payoff.
No mortgage now.
One last credit card bill to pay. ( Which will be done this week )
Then I don't owe anybody anything.

Have to be realistic now though and look for work outside programming as I don't think there will be any openings in my home town.
Need something local ( or preferably from home ) as I am a single parent to two school age girls.

Are you redundant AFTER two years , or FOR two years.

not quite redundant. worked as a permie with several companies for 15 years then went contracting for 8 years (Amex and EDS). managed to clear mortgage and save a tidy sum but like you cannot get a job as the market is just dead. Last contract ended in april 07 and no work since.

cant even claim anything as foolishly saved for a rainy day. the trouble now is that the only jobs available seem to be for minimum wage and they dont reply once I send in my CV (over-qualified or too old?).

At least I dont have to get up early on these dark winter mornings. Roll on Summer :-D
