An explanation from the mods please!!!
I tried to log on a couple of days ago to realise I had received an infraction from Andy Wedge for supposedly using multiple ID's (never happened, not by me anyway). So I sent a couple of emails, and finally got this reply from admin:
Hi Laura,
Sorry for the delay in replying, we had to review the situation, which
we've now done and the suspension will be lifted in a few minutes with
the infraction also removed, apologies from the moderator too.
Thanks for your patience.
Kind Regards
HotUKDeals Administration.
I asked for an explanation in the emails, and am still yet to receive one, any chance a mod can shed some light on the situation for me? If it's a case that someone else created an account in my name, don't I have the right to know about this?

Jump to unread Post a CommentChrist, everyone's quick enough to slate the mods (not including me, I haven't even done that here), yet I ask for something simple and I'm being criticised gee thanks guys!
I asked them to check the IP details in the email to which I got a response. There should/would not have been any 'issues' as I am the only person who uses my computer & internet connection!!
As for all infractions if a mistake is made they will rectify as they have done.
Would of been easier to use the contact us button or to contact Andywedge who infracted.
They will not put the information on here for all to see.:)

Some providers will have a whole street on the same ip address. :) It wouldn't be fair if this is the case to give you the details regarding this as it would also involve another user.
Just a possibility. :)

I think the apology from a moderator covers that, although would have been decent to actually receive the apology from the moderator rather than the admins

Fair play, but when I have read other users with similar situations they were told by members to not contact the mod directly and to use feedback, or report sections, and I have already used contact us twice with the question.

I don't need intricate explanations ( I am far from being a techie!), just if someone had said, There was an honest mistake, or there was a mix up with IP details etc. Also I use a mobile braodband USB, so that may have something to do with it.
As I said, I was just concerned in case someone was using my details, as when I went to log on to yahoo I got message saying 'you have been disconnected from chat as you have been logged on from a different computer' ( and yes I changed my password)
Like I said, not bothered about an apology really, just wanted to know if anything untoward had occurred
i was referring to you saying that there was nothing about a mistake, the apaolgy obviously means there has been one, as sy said it probably is ip issue and the team wouldnt chat with you about this, or maybe just a genuine mistake
if someone had been using your details im sure you would have been told
I can't even remember the details you give when you sign up as it was so long ago but i'd almost guarantee it wouldn't be that as there are just too many people for them to cross reference names etc and they wouldn't have the time. :)
Thanks
I seem to remember the same type of thing happening to me way back. A couple of polite PM's and it was sorted although I never got a full explanation of how I had a very similar IP address to another user.
Maybe it's not the sort of knowledge that should be broadcast, I don't know.
I just wouldn't take it personally , it seems to be sorted now. :)
Why is it common nowadays to jump on people from a great height when a simple friendly reply would suffice ??

We'll see what happens.

I don't get this with not being allowed to have more than one account per household/IP address etc anyway, there is not a massive amount to be gained from being on here, yes you get some bargains, discount codes, and chat etc, but there is no financial gain etc, just don't get it!!
It's because there is a For Sale forum and it could be used to bump threads, prices etc. Also it would be unfair advantage on the comps/giveaways they have here. :)
Several people in the same house can have accounts...........just needs mod/admin approval first and then only one of those accounts allowed to use FS/FT.
you are allowed to have more than one account per household, your jusy asked to ok it with mods, its mainly about the fs boards i belive, to stop family members pushing prices up, although as its a set price not really gonna happen, but its their rules so members have to abide by their wishes:thumbsup:
If me and for example my brother entered??? I understand no multiple ID's no probs with that at all, it's why no more than 1 per household.
ps, I don't understand the bumping thing lol!!
