What are they?!

You know the code is half-written... It's one of those things that keeps getting forgotten but that I'd really like to have back again.

p.s. if anyone is interested in doing the grunt work of scanning let me know...

One useful feature, if it isn't already included, would be the ability to attach a link to a deal post related to the Ad Scan, just underneath.

That way, if one of the scans includes an offer that's already posted here then people will know where the discussion is. :)

Just a suggestion.

snap...

they were all the offerrs etc the major retailers offered at that time and the ads they took out in the newspapers at weekends, as saturday used to be major advert day for comet etc, one of the mods used to scan all the newspaper ads in, think rayman?! when misc wasnt so big i guess

Simply scans of the Saturday ads from newspapers - some companies, particularly the likes of DSG would do a page full of offers. The scans were handy as it showed all the potentially interesting reduced items on a single page rather than noticing a bargain when browsing.

Someone scans in all the ads in Saturdays newspapers and then uploads them to here

See here for more details

It's a pretty good idea I suppose as you can see all the special offers for the weekend in one place. The only problem is that someone has to go out and buy all the newspapers then upload most of the adverts. I can imagine it's a very grueling task. Not only that but any good deals are posted in the deal section anyway making it a pretty pointless process.
