The title says it all really.

Can the mods take down or at least move the "Wiii back in stock at..." type threads from the hot deals pages.

Something being sold at standard rrp is not a hot deal. A package deal for less than the component costs is a hot deal. The fact that something is in short supply and is currently available does not change this.

Thank you

Agreed. Its a comment/advice and belongs here probably. Its most defininately not a hot deal at its RRP.

you might not think its a hot deal, but others might and will vote so accordingly. :)

if you can get your hands on one i would say its hotter than BOGOF supermarket deals;-)

Its a matter of opinion. You can't demand to remove short supply items, if YOU don't think is hot. Thats wrong, even if it is a website :)

To me the posting of 'Wii's in stock at RRP' is about as hot as you can get atm. You only have to look at Gamestation, Ebay, Microdirect and a fair few others to see that Wii's are in short supply AND also being sold well over RRP in many places. The biggest indicator on this subject has to be how they are voted - I don't see any 'Wii in stock at RRP' threads getting cold votes until they are out of stock :giggle:

they really are not that difficult to get hold of

Cool  - I live in Manchester can you deliver?

If not can you tell me where they are in stock at RRP in my locale? :-D

Thanks in advance.

Steady old chap!

Just voicing an opinion that something at a RRP is not a hot deal. I didn't "demand" anything.

Would you think a shop selling above the RRP is a hot deal because its in short supply?

I see what you mean!

-40 is real hot!!!!!! (OK - so you will all heat it up.... but it certainly doesn't sound like you thought it was!

IMO they are not a hot deal - this is not the opinion of HUKD though.

It's up to you guys what you want to post, and you get to vote on it. There were a lot before Christmas, when it was really hard to get. I cannot believe that the demand still has not been filfilled, and that they are still in short supply.

Unfortunately all sorts of news and tips get posted in the deals section when imo they shouldn't be there.

Maybe when the update comes there could be an additional forum for these? along with a help forum which has been muted in the past.....

I Agree!

And as for the demand not being fulfilled, MY opinion is that it is all a big clever marketing plan!

Money hungry nintendo guy:"Look everyone the Wiis are all out of stock thats how popular they are"
Average joe: "Wow look they must be good if they are sold out everywhere, lets go and buy one at RRP"
Money hungry nintendo guy, sitting on top of a mountain of wii's "heheheheh"

or something along those lines!

I disagree.

The hotness of a deal isn't relative to its RRP, but to what it sells for elsewhere. If the Wii is only readily available on, say, eBay for £250, then for it to be available at £180 in a shop is a hot deal.

To be honest, if I was struggling to get one, and someone posted here with one at RRP, I would consider it a hot deal. I think the prospective dissapointment on my kids faces would make me pay over RRP if I was struggling, but thanks to members on here, I can get a hot deal and that hot deal is a Wii...albeit at RRP.

If you don't like it, ignore it and vote it cold. Those who want one and get one will vote hot. It's only a hot deal if the temp is high, so the members decide.

I agree that they're a hot deal, I mean, even computer exchange were accepting secondhand models at £190 cash, so if you bought one at RRP and traded it for straight up cash, you'll make a profit of £10 or you could even play it for a while and still make the profit with minimum fuss and don't forget, if you want store credit, you'd receive over £200 when I last checked.

Nintendo have marketed the product brilliantly, although it's not an innovative idea at all, as there's been boxing and tennis games available intereractive with your tv and a glove or tennis racket respectively for ages and for about 10% of the price of a Wii.

How Nintendo keep sending out a small amount of consoles keeps people talking about the console and want it more because it's harder to attain and because it's definitely very fun at first, if you've tried it out at a friends, you'll want it even more but later you'll realise that the novelty can ware off and it's too late because you've already fallen for Nintendos marketing scheme.

If baked beans can be a hot deal then i think the voting here is screwed anyway. :o

Sorry mate, didn't mean for any one to come across my comment as sharp or snappy, thats why I put the smiley face to soften it up :);)! Apologies!

IMO a shop selling a short supply item above RRP is not a hot deal. Thats just off.

But a shop selling a short supply item for RRP (or below) is :)

But I also think there are more factors than RRP.
