i was just in the process of pm'ing col to see if the rules had changed, his post also makes it look like its one bump per day, when it is two bumps in total:?
[admin]#2
The full rule says:

One bump per day, to a maximum of two bumps in total is acceptable.

IX. For Sale, Trade and Wanted Forum:

Selling or trading in this forum requires a few extra guidelines and rules. For the full run down please read the rules posted here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13761http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13761 It is basically created for personal sales that are more akin to your local newspaper classified ads and should be treated as such.

* No illegal selling or trading of copyrighted materials or media.
* No dealing by PM only, all interest of acceptance or not should first be posted in the thread.
* If you are not interested in buying or trading with users, please don't post there as your posts will be deleted for thread spoiling.
* Should you have a query about a trader, please do not post in the thread, use the report button or PM a Moderator.
* Accusations or interference without good cause will be deemed as thread spoiling and your posts deleted.
* If you have a link to a better price for the item for sale, one post for that is sufficient, all other irrelevant posts will be deleted.
* Never post your personal details in threads, either send them to the person you're dealing with or PM them to a Moderator.
* You must not list your items for sale or trade here if they're listed elsewhere online.
* Selling more than one of certain items will be classed as bulk sales and will be removed at the Moderators discretion.
* Business or eBay style sales will also be removed without question.
* Continuous 'bumping' of threads to promote your sale without good reason, may result in deleted posts or threads. One bump per day to a maximum of two bumps in total is acceptable.
* Items listed for sale at higher than their face value or recommended retail price will be removed. Any exceptions will be decided at the discretion of Admin or Moderators.

In all honesty, I was unaware of that rule until Col pointed it out to me, as the rules in my signature links are worded differently.

and how are members supposed to know about the one bump per day rule? this should surely be in the rules at the top of each thread, i have to be honest and have to say i have reported threads with continual bumping in and they have never been banned, i also reported a member who was bumping, then deleting the old bump to add a new one, and this member wasnt banned, seems a little OTT

Those are not the rules even in Col's signature, liberty.
#8
Just clicked on those links JB and they're the same as in your sig.

I agree, at the top of EVERY FS post there is a link to THOSE rules, so they should be the accepted ones, not some hidden rules.

So what is the correct rule then? And how comes mods had different rules to go by?

Well I would agree with you, seeing as they are the rules linked to by FS/FT posts.

Sassie, the bump/delete/bump/delete... Wasn't a remote control car perchance??
[admin]#12
That's precisely what I'm saying
The rules in the code of conduct are slightly different to the fs/t rules in my link.
As such I'm gonna lift the ban and apologise to the OP as the two variations are confusing.
And I'll speak to Ray about the rules and see which set should be the ones to go by.

Thanks guys

there is nothing in the rules that state you will be banned for bumping nayway, ony thread deletion, to ban new members when old members are doing it and getting away with it is bang out of line

Shengis, i cant remember now, but they just got a "(4) Continuous 'bumping' of threads to promote your sale without good reason, may result in deleted posts or threads. Maximum of two bumps in total." put into their thread. To me this member knew exactly what they where doing and never got banned, this one here probaly didnt know and has been banned

Well, now Col's in the seat and driving the FT/FT forum, maybe it's time for a clear and unambiguous rewrite of the rules. Maybe a discussion on what needs to be included/relevant penalties?
#15
Thanks for pointing out the inconsistency Simon_G.

As has been pointed out the 1 bump a day rule was within the Forum Code of Conduct and I had assumed this rule was consistent with the rules stated elsewhere.

The ban has now been lifted due to any confusion that may have existed.

Appreciate your feedback
Thanks :)

totally agree there:thumbsup:

It is something that's being done as we speak- currently, any breach of fs/t rules will earn the offender a one day ban (for a first offence). This increases to a one week, then ten day ban for second/third offences etc.

Both sets of rules have now been updated.

They have been updated so that the code of conduct bump rule is the same as the fs/t.

Punishments etc are still being discussed, but as I said before, we're working on a one day ban for first offence etc.

I need some clarification on the bulk sales rule. i understand that my thread was pulled becaus ei was selling several watches, even though they were different watches, now i had a thread recently selling several xbox 360 games. the games stayed the watches got pulled today. Is it a case of you can list the watches one until they are sold or not at all. i've had a warning for 'col' today for doing it and have pm'd him him for clarification aswell, just so i can stay on the right side of the rules. thanks
