Jump to unread Post a CommentThere seems to have been an influx of animated images embedded in threads in the last few weeks.
If you do not contribute on the first page, & leave the thread for ten minutes or so, by the time you return it is four or five pages on with multi-level quotes & the same images re-posting over & over again.
I suspect the HotUKDeals web server(s) are struggling to serve some of the threads in a timely manner & the rest of the site (membership) is suffering as a result.
Once or twice a night those kind of threads are fine, & dedicated threads for this topic are also OK, but when the same people re-appear night after night & turn most of the threads into the same outcome it means we have to carry over discussions into the "Feedback" forum instead.
:)

PS. The number of online (visible) site staff members also seems to be low in this same time period. I hope the two are linked.

although i wish they would implement only quoting a post, not every god damn quote with that post, was reading a thread the other day and just gave up, it was stupid ever new post was quoting the last and ended up like one post per page, absolutely absurd
Oh and hero developer i should not have to remind you this is feedback not misc lol

BFN,

It would probably help immensly if the cursor was placed on a new line at the end of any quoting done instead of right at the front.
You could argue that it is a bug as most people will be adjusting the cursor position every time they quote someone.
exactly, now just try and fathom out how this post above came about
you actually have to re-position your cursor when replying to do it! Got told to grow up and get a life yesterday for pulling someone up on it - LMAO!

eh? I hit reply and type straight away. Never fails. No messing about with cursor required
I complained about the reply box being too small but admin just replied that I can make it bigger manually EVERY time I reply. Typical head in the sand response as per usual. Jeez, it cant be more than 10 minutes work to make the reply box bigger!
If I do that, this is what it looks like.
My cursor is always positioned at the start of any reply.
I use IE9 and W7.

Well, there's part of the problem then.
In Chrome, it works as you describe.
So probably all the top posters are using IE9 and W7 or some other variation that positions the cursor in the wrong place.
