[BUG]: (now confirmed) Is the 'Enable Like Notifications' facility still in operation?
Something I have been meaning to mention for a few weeks…
The “Enable Like Notifications” option in the [Settings] tab of my Profile under “Private Messaging Options” is still checked (selected), but I no longer receive the “Like” notification at the top of the page to inform me that a member has clicked [Like this comment] on a comment I have made previously.
Is this true for everybody? If so, why was the feature removed & is this temporary?
If removed permanently why is the “Enable Like Notifications” still in the “Profile” [Settings] tab?

i don't think you need to worry about like notifications tbh

I don't worry about it... I am just curious if it is an issue with my account/usage or everybody's experience with the site is (now) the same. If the facility is no longer being used why is the option still in the Profile [Settings] tab?

When the facility was first introduced the banner at the top of the screen used to stay until navigating elsewhere (like clicking on the details in the header to see which comment had been 'Liked'). Moving to any another thread also cleared the notification.
I suspect when the "Flamedeer" &/or "Mobot.net" headers were introduced the "Like" notification got sidelined & it has not been reinstated (yet).

Yes, I recall how it worked previously; the banner at the top of a thread (page).
Maybe I missed this instance by jumping into a thread at a specific comment after clicking on a hyperlink in an e-mail notification, then leaving the page without returning to the top, or closing the page completely.
OK, I'll monitor the situation for a while & keep checking the top of each page I visit before I leave.
You did find a problem earlier though didn't you? Was there an issue with showing the notification messages?

use back - main page not updated in view but is behind the scenes
go into thread
missed notification
dunno really but i have only seen one in past few months (missed half!!!1)

came to site via favourites
had a like notification
clicked the banner to see for what and on that page got another notification
at that point had no more likes to check if using back button worked.
seen more today than in last few months combined
