I'm sure you recall this has been the case since the roll-out of the new site last year & has never been addressed (although mentioned in at least one of the combined bug/issues threads that have subsequently been removed from view).

Have you also noticed that the temperature of deals in your Profile is sometimes one degree different to the temperature displayed in the thread? That was also mentioned over six months ago.

"this"... the subject of the thread.

As well as many of the other issues reported following the roll-out of the new site last year.

what i meant was:
how many issues have been reported with no action taken
clarity isnt my strong point though my sentence still makes sense to me :)

apparently they are all being logged. Although common courtesy dictates the developer should at least post in the thread that it has been!

Ahhh... sorry :)

The quick answer is 'many'.

I could return to the few combined issue threads that were started (& later ditched in favour of separate threads despite my reservations that nobody would know the state of any issue raised & duplication would occur regularly), but as an idea of the magnitude; just look through the first few Feedback pages & note how many issues are still outstanding.

The numbers of issues reported prior to the enforced creation of individual threads certainly outnumbered this quantity. Did we foolishly think that any previously reported issues would be resolved, or that the previously reported issues would be ignored?

For example, the prefixing of "Re:" in Private Message subject lines on each & every reply, so that over time you may end up with a subject like "Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: the original title".

You still cannot copy other members on messages. Hyperlink addresses typed in messages are not automatically parsed into clickable links like they are in comments in threads. The quantity of messages displayed is not correct after a message is deleted... and so on.

Or... Viewing a thread in Microsoft Internet Explorer "7.x" & then using the [Reply to this comment] link by the side of any existing comment. The text from the comment shows in the "Leave a Reply" box at the bottom of the page, but when you scroll down the page to add something else the text disappears & you have to use [Reply to this comment] again.

Using the [Preview Comment] button can result in a message being too large to see but no scrollbar is available. If you have a computer mouse with a "scroll wheel" you can use that, but it is not obvious. The avatar of the member in the Preview Comment display is also not the one shown in the thread; it is the much larger Profile image. Consequently you only see the top left corner (around a quarter of the actual image); granted, this is not a huge problem, but it is still unresolved.

Or... as csiman has mentioned (again), Expired threads are shown as Active threads in your Profile.

The deal temperature in your Profile can be a degree less than the actual temperature; check my "Profile" for an example: [ http://www.hotukdeals.com/profile/fanpages ]. Look at the 309 degrees the "European PlayStation Store Special Offers Until 2 March 2011" deal thread has gained. Click the link to see it actually had 310 degrees of heat!

Many more examples exist.

I can envisage there is probably a lack of motivation to tackle the large list of "snags". I've certainly lost motivation to keep posting threads with issues I find as they are rarely even acknowledged beyond a simple "We'll look into it" response. No doubt the fact I have curtailed my recording of issues recently will please some members who thought I was dominating the Feedback forum with such threads.

With development ongoing with other sites in the HotUKDeals 'family' perhaps a decision has been taken to ramp-down issue resolution here for the time being except in cases of the utmost priority.

Initiatives such as Facebook & Twitter are all very well, but if they drive traffic to a site that then does not work the new visitors are not going convert to a full membership or participate at all.

Lost revenue must surely be a concern if this is occurring.

heh , well it was really a rhetorical question. although any developers reading may find that a useful checklist :)
still... we should be grateful we have the all important newbie badges. guess all they need now is fixing so they actually reflect the right number of deals posted...

Ouch! Harsh... but fair, unfortunately.
