Can someone give me easy advice on how to delete my profile and account?

I want to leave this site, could a mod either delete my account or give me instructions on how to delete my own account.... I cant see how to do it under settings.

Average of one a day... so far.

Once the "old skin" is no longer available that average will increase.

Surely a mod can just close my account..... do I really have to change my email, request password, email the powers that be and hope for the best?

There isn't a "close account" process.

You may have noticed all those that have been "banned" still have (most of) their comments in all the threads they have contributed to & their "Profile" page is still intact.

I don't think you understand the difference or similarities between deleting your account, being banned and having an account closed.

I'm guessing you can't delete your account as that would also delete any threads you started. If these included deal threads the referral link, and with it the site's income, would also be deleted and that's never going to happen.

set it up to delete individual posts

viola all posts are removed other than those quoted

Anyone leaving that has a decent deal running would not cost this site anything, 'cos any deal running would have been jumped on straight away if it were any good. If the deal got deleted, someone else would post it if it were that good, or, its time, plus any money to be made, is/was over.
But, having said all that, peoples threads and posts do not get deleted if they "leave".
Did you know, if you delete your own post, it is not actually deleted, but just marked as such and is not displayed. It is still there on this site's database.
That I think is a bit disturbing.
