Yeah i like the idea! And i wish people would tag the items all the same...

I.e:

XBOX360 - not xbox, xbox 360, 360 etc...

Unless there is a way the admin can make tags linked?

I Agree With This Idea, Lets Get A Petition Going.........

Would be a very good idea...

Not going to happen. Members would just ask for more and more topics to be added eg HDDVD, CDs, Downloads etc.

Of more importance than any of the above suggestions would be a help forum or topic as the help threads in Misc get swamped by everything else posted in there.

I didnt even know the topics where up the top of the page.... first time ive noticed it!!!

Thats not a bad idea and its something that could be done now. Even if the op forgets to do this then other members could add the tags....

I'd have to agree with gari189 above.

Maybe a DVD section too, or at least clearer guidance on which section to post them in.

I don't think they need to be separate, a new section 'Media' or similar for Games, DVDs and CDs would be reasonable.

I've just looked in the < entertainment > category, & it's full of mixed items - Computers Accessories, DVD's, Toys etc. Could we not change this name to < Media > as John has suggested as this is a much clearer category & < entertainment > is currently so muddled.

Kids could become < Kids/Toys > & all the IT stuff could go into < computers >. The categories could do with a review now again to make sure deals are posted in correct category, as is done currently with forums, but it would be much clearer.

Plus is would help in run up to Christmas & encourage visitors to click through links if they can quickly find relevant deals. Only a little tweaking required to existing fields to improve existing topics.

Please Admin ?

Media sounds right.

Yep, a Media category would fit everything.

When I hear media I think of blank CDs, DVDs, USB drives, etc? Isn't that the word retail stores use for that section?
[mod]#15
Whatever category you create.........i'm sure many will still get it wrong and stick it in grocery or pet food or something. lol

But back to question...........games, DVD's etc are also all classed as Media in retail stores.

Media department in supermarkets normally sell DVDs, CDs, Games etc - it's the common description for this sort of thing and the majority of shoppers will identify with that.

To me (Mrs Average) USBs etc are computer / IT equipment.

Entertainment caregory isn't working at all - if you want a DVD or a game you don't really want to also see cameras, Ipod equipment etc which should be in electrical to keep it simple. John has made a good suggestion with the term < MEDIA >

A basic guideline can be added to help threads & also the more experienced members can point the newer ones in the right direction if asked, as we already do for other things. It makes good sense honestly .

EDIT: Plus, and I've mentioned this before, I don't understand why you don't make more use of the info bubbles that appears when you hover over a category. The current one is empty. Change category to < Media > & add < Games, DVDs, CDs > into that box

They are just blank at the moment & provide no help / guidance

You should point out that you have Google Translate turned on - don't wanna be giving the admin a heart attack with those tooltips!

Agree with admin that Media sounds wrong. Supermarkets call it "Entertainment" (which we already have - but people bang Games into entertainment, household or computers.

How about "Audio/Video" or AV , which I guess would cover games in most peoples eyes.

Audio/Video implies TV's/DVD players etc in my eyes...its not clear enough
think Media works for DVD and games etc as it comes down to entertainment but like its been said other things get lumped into entertainment that shouldnt be...think media would be perfect for DVD, games, CD's etc but then to be honest I dont see a need for entertainment once you get media as everything else is covered
