Is it just me who thinks that it is wrong asking the person who wants an item to state how much they are willing to pay?
In all my life I have never seen a buyer stating a price, after all it is a sellers market. I think it is always down to the seller to state a price upon offer of the product, which 99% of the time they offer it slightly over what they will accept then the deal begins.
Asking a buyer to name a price they are willing to pay somewhat closes the market and the offers before they even start.
For example If I want an Xbox 360, maybe with games maybe without, 1 controller, 2 would be better, a wireless headset would be awesome. How am I supposed to put a 'WANTED 'price on that?
I should be able to put out a wanted add and then let the perspective sellers offer their deals. After all I only want some kind of Xbox 360 deal, the more the better but there is never any concrete answer as to how much I will pay and for what, that is why buyers should be allowed to place a wanted add at no inconvenience to themselves and then let the offers come in, after all whoever sells their item know exactly where they are at and how low they will go, this gives them the edge befroe they start.
If I was on the lookout for an Xbox 360 and I have £200 (plus some extra as we all do) and I stated my max as £200 in my wanted list then I could miss out as some people will not post a better deal but more expensive not knowing that I have some cash in reserve for the right machine.
After all we are going to put our very least we would offer, who in the right mind would put £250 as our buy in price (yes we would pay £250 but if we could get one for £200 then perfect,) so we are going to put £200!!!!
Asking people to name a wanted price is just wrong, wrong, wrong, it does not work, and I along with everyone else can see that from the shock people have when they are asked to name a price. Ir is not easy to name your price, in fact I will not do it myself, it is up to the seller to offer the product to me at a price they are willing to accept.
It is a sellers market, bot a buyers. Let the sellers name their price and then the negotiatiions take place after the initial price had been asked.
