I think Admin and that realise this but havent really done anything about it in their rules,

do you mean if i was to put a Wanted add and not put a price, 5 min later a mod would put a reply stating "please put a price as this is the site rules"?

I have to say I don't see a problem with a buyer setting a price range - it doesn't have to be an exact science, it can save a lot of wasted time.

That is what I am talking about mate.

It just seems a little over the top. I know it's just a guideline for the mods but asking everyone who posts a wanted thread to state a price they are willing to pay is a little silly. Wanted threads should be left as they are if they are not breaking any rules, just let people ask for an item and let the thread take it's course. Obviously insert the safety regulations post by all means.

It helps to save price.

Of course, if you say £200 and you're offering it for £250 then you might want to haggle with the buyer, but if they're somone who wants it for no more than £100 then you won't bother wasting your time there... just as an example.

Hmmm yes I see your point here beerman. To be honest this situation is not one I have thought of and when making the FS/FT rules on you must name a price I had sellers in mind.

Perhaps we should have the rule that responses to the the wanted thread need to have a price?

I think the title also needs to be changed...

From "For Sale or Trade" to "For Sale, Trade or Wanted"

And can we not make it so that you have to put...

FS: - For Sale

W: - Wanted

T: - Trade

At the beginning to make it more uniformed?

Maybe have a radio box they can choose what type of post it is and it will do it automatically?

The buyer could also be ripped off, could be asking for something and willing to pay £100 (example) the seller was willing to sell it for £80 because they know thats what its worth - the buyer is then paying £20 over what it is worth unless the seller is a very honest person

I added the line to the rules that wanted/requests don't need to have a price but responses to a request do. Also put wanted in the forum title.

As for radio boxes and such we may be able to do that when we update the site in a few months but right now I don't have that flexibility in that forum.

Thanks for the response admin.
