How do you delete a thread you start?

csiman - did you intend to post a link to a thread?
Yes, I've worked out that the contact us button doesn't do anything. They seem to think I'm connected in some way to the company for whom I posted my first deal, but have steadfastly refused to respond to 'contact us'. I've had some great deals as a 'lurker' on this site over the years, only signed up to get involved in a thread about Wimbledon, then decided to post a deal, which has never made it past moderation. I would be fine if they were open about whatever they think I've done wrong, as I am not linked to the company. Subsequently I have spotted that there are lots of deals from people who work for those companies........so I can only conclude that there is some financial or other motive for not posting my deal. I think the fact I've pursued it may have made them suspicious of me.....but I'm a project manager, so I always pursue things. And now I've turned suspicious myself and want out!
On the contrary, the internet is my life, I just don't like people who are so secretive.
magicjay1986 - I don't want to change my email address, I want to close my account. The two are entirely different.
We do not keep any personal data other than your email address which you signed up with so as I have said, edit this if you wish to no longer use HUKD. If any personal information is posted within a thread we try and act as quickly as possible to remove it.
There is a difference between content (posts etc) and personal information.

If there is anything unsuitable which you no longer wish to be visible then we ask for it to be reported for it to be considered. Ultimately however, people should not post anything (thread or comment) that they are likely to regret or possibly want removing in the future. It is all about people being responsible for their own posts etc.

"Can someone give me easy advice on how to delete my profile and account?"
The outcome of this thread... Comment #108:
Tom Servo, delete your own comments, change your email address, sign out. Easy peasy.
If it's too tempting to sign back in after that, email and we'll reset your password to something random.
If you get yourself banned, your comments will still remain.
If your username contains sensitive info which could be used to identify you, we can change it - you need to email in for that to happen though.

You know the answer to that question Colin so I am not sure why you are repeating it.
I think a lot of forum software is the same, I've never seen the option on a vBulletin based board. I suppose it's because it would disrupt the conversation flow of threads you've participated in, however if the mods are suggesting that you delete all your own posts as a workaround, it does seem daft given that it would take them 2 seconds in the mod/admin control panel. Suppose they don't want hundreds of requests.

Not sure why you gave misleading to the OP in a feedback thread either, so thought it must have changed, obviously it hasn't.
Also the reason why multi's are allowed and, regardless of the rules, the original accounts are not banned.

What did I say which was misleading? From the CoC, you can delete your posts. I never said you could delete threads. Unless I have missed the point?

So the first post of a thread isn't a post?
