I posted up a deal on a memory card that had been brought to my attention by a friend. Now I know I haven't been here all that long, but having posted 11 deals so far, and vigilantly kept them up to date I thought perhaps my profile might count for something.
But I come back to check whether there have been any questions on any of my posts to find that my most recent one has been removed because it "reeks of spam", and is accompanied by a message in my private messages about self promotion.
Now I had already mentioned in a reply to someone's comment on one of my posts that I develop software, AND that I wouldn't promote any of my products on here:
Suddenly, one post out of the blue and I'm being accused of self promoting. No questions that I get to answer, no opportunity to defend myself against these accusations. And clearly absolutely no research into the validity of this. I simply posted the cheapest deal available in the list. Given that I would expect the admin/mod team to be able to see my IP address, which puts me in the UK, I could have at least understood some suspicion if I had listed the second company in the list (based in the UK). However, after only a few seconds checking I can see that the offer I had listed was from a company operating out of Singapore.
Maybe I'm taking this too personally? But I am really upset about the fact that this is done without any consultation or attempt to find out whether there is any validity behind the accusation at all. Does this now go on file against my profile. Am I forever to be incorrectly labelled as a self promoter because no one feels it might be a good idea to at least check into these kind of accusations?
