I think those threads are lame, congratulating someone on getting 2400 posts (yes, I have seen it happen at 2400?!?) is about as lame as it gets - but like these guys say, it doesn't really matter, it's the nonsnese section, they are pretty easy to just ignore if they aren't your cup of tea :)

I think at some point we may need to make a minimum (i.e. x level and above )...

Or a maximum level so that Emma isn't getting one per week. :-D

1000, 5000, 10000 etc makes sense to me...there's one now congratulating someone on 6000 posts? that just seems bizarre to me, if we are going to congratulate people on 2500, 6000, 12000 etc why not just congratulate someone every time they post?

Congrats on your 11949th post admin.

Like I say, I think they are weird...but they don't bother me...but I wouldn't be adverse to seeing less of them.

Just seems to me to be a bit of harmless friendlness and nothing more.

I guess that's just not fashionable though. :x

I've only ever seen it used on the 1.000 mark, 1.2.3.4. etc.

I don't think anyone wouldn't say it's friendliness hottoshop :)

I think the issue that often comes up on big forums and why they ban these kind of threads is that they end up swamping other discussion. Also it can lead to hurt feelings when someone doesn't get acknowledged.

And I'm not saying we're making any rule on this - I just thought I'd give my thoughts :)

Nobody noticed my 7k (around the time of the switch over) or 8k

But as long as people notice me, rather than my post number, I am happy, and since people post replies to me, I must not be invisible!

i agree with the op yeah they are ok after a while but imagine the amount of members who hit 1000 or a good number there will be congrats threads all over the misc making my eyes go funny lol
its also true what op says congratulating someone for posting and reaching a number?does it just go to show the higher posters do not get off this site, ie. no lives?!?
or does it show they just spam and talk nonsense etc etc or cant shut up or blah blah blah whatever u get my point
nobody knows...........................jeje

Yep you're right muffin, I don't have a life, I like writing nonsense now and again and I yap on too much too often.
I also enjoy helping people whenever I can, posting the odd decent deal and being part of a nice friendly community which is why I stayed on HUKD after first coming.

Draw whatever you like from that and I sincerely apologise if my behaviour upsets you or anyone else .

Nah I like Muffins, specially the Double Choc ones :)

I know what you're saying , just seems an extraordinary thing for people to get uptight about.

Anyway that's another post, wheeeeeee! ;-)
