You mean if you're in your custom tab and you click "text only" in the view options it changes the deals showing? I think actually the nav bar shows All - All but your Custom sort should be your custom settings no matter anything else as long as you are in the Custom tab.

Hi Paul,

I customised the deal search to filter deals by newest using Emmas method.

When I get onto the custom tab (my revised search settings) and click 'classic view' it defaults back to all topics & all forums. Doesnt change the custom settings to classic view. Am I doing something wrong?

If you want to see the custom results in classic view, you have to have that in your settings in the custom area - http://www.hotukdeals.com/custom-settings .Simple view, or detailed view. I don't really know what you mean by classic view.

The text only and details view links aren't available in the Custom tab - you need to set this preference in the Custom as its part of your view.

Sorry guys still having real problems here. I have set custom settings to View Preference; Simple & Sort By;New. Those are the saved settings. That should be the equivalent of the sort by newest (?). When I click my custom tab the times of deal postings are all over the place. Is the problem with the post timeclock?

I only have Deals and Vouchers as preferences (although only 1 is showing - it is there 'invisibly').

Are you looking at the last post timestamp? That will show you the time the last post was made not necessarily the time the actual thread was started.

Not bothered about posts (or responses) I simply want to see the deals sorted by newest. I always go back though them (to make sure I havent missed any) back to the last time I was on the site. It doesnt seem to display the 'sorted by newest ' in a 'simple' view mode. The times of the threads do not appear chronologically.

Sorry if I am not explaining correctly.

The "New" tab does just that, shows deals and threads in the order that they were posted.

They are in time order. It's just that on the right, you are only seeing the time of the last comment - which is different to the actual time they were posted - they are listed in that order.
