Ok

Yeah, I know what you mean - it's fine to post the original code if you've found and some good deals using that code. However I don't think we need 50 separate threads simply applying the code.

It saves trawling through the catalogue to find items that with £20 off make a good deal. I don't have a problem with them.
[mod]#7
I agree. But it seems to be the norm now to post as many different items as possible from their site with the voucher attached.

Couple this with constant duplicate threads by people trying to take other peoples credit, Rep Begging, delibrate posting of deals without P&P charges to make them seem cheaper and threads saying 'such and such' is 25p in my local store (and a thread full of not at mine comments although the deal is about 200 degrees). So all you're left with is a Hot Deals forum that is full of more spam than the Misc thread.

It's getting so difficult to navigate through now to find the genuine deals.
#8
I agree, bargains using the code should be put in the original thread with the code.

These threads are supposed to be deleted, but some are and some arent which seems rather unfair. I understand that the mods cant be watching all of the time, but either all threads of this nature should be deleted or none should. (Preferably the first!!!)
#9
I agree.
God its annoying . A nunchuk for £7.. and then everybody goes heat crazy.
Jeez, its not hard... £23.50 off an order, find something for £30 and now its a bargain.
1 thread, per voucher. Job done

Are you guys talking about littlewoods codes?
banned#11
Emma, yes i personally was talking about catalogue codes although i have seen them for shops, i cant see why a code cant be advertised and then all days people find using that code placed on that one thread, as already said everything with £20/30 is a bargain to most, between expired deals and these "brilliant" offers with codes there aint much else on front page, because these codes keep getting bumped up, usually with wouldnt work for me, im a not a new customer etc, etc When in fact there could be umerous threads going with all the same code
#12
OK, well I usually remove code stacking deals, but my net has been down for the last 36 hours and I just got back on and I am currently making my way through the front page deals...

Im not on about code stacking, im on about say a £30 off code being continually posted numerous times as deals, like "buy this phone for £50 using this code" then another thread "buy this radio for £40 using this code" then "buy this bedding set for £20 using this code" etc, etc, all these threads using the same code, and them members telling you oh dont worry re-sign up and get another account to use the code if your already a customer, im all for bargains but it gets a little silly, Everything in the catalogue is a bargain if you knock £30 off but we dont want every item posting in a seperate deal to use the same code, you get my drift

36 hours, OMG Iom has posted 3500 posts since then, sort them out and you won't have to much to do :giggle: :giggle:

That's a lot of checking :whistling:

Anyway, I agree with this, one topic e.g £23.50 off.
A reply to that hey did you know this makes a great deal for DS Lites as there now just £xx?
Hey yea! Cheers for that! Rep added, no need for 200 threads on an item with the voucher attached.

Yep, I think it's fine if people simply post what they think is a good deal in the same thread, it may mean scrolling through the thread a bit but I don't think that's a problem.

Im sure to just put in a price and before discount codes in the title would help, or price before discounts from a catalogue etc, etc, especially new customer codes then put this in title, some of us dont actually want to set up mutiple accounts

A comment from admin on this would be nice :-D
[admin]#21
I think the same thread has been done before? I think when it's a first time use or restricted code that it should say before price in title and then a (£xx using first time £30 code) or something like that so people know

Yes im sure of the years most have been done before but i havent been a member that long so havent got round to reading every thread, yet ;-)

Most codes are restricted to using one on an account though, so most once used are unusable by same person, why cannot just the code be posted and that thread used for the bargains? What do you think? Do you see the need for lots of threads using the same code, although most are unable to use?
#23
The same thing happened with Ebuyer items with the Google Checkout, stuff that wasn't really reduced but was only cheap because of the £10 Google Checkout discount that applied to any orders over £30.

Should be kept to 1 thread IMO.
[admin]#24
I don't think there's any point in a thread that lists a code and bargains. It's useful to have a thread saying "£10 off anything at xx for first-time user" for example. And then I think it's worth having threads for specific and desirable items. That catches both sides of it. So the person looking for less common things still has a heads up to check out that merchant but also the good nuggets are explicitly exposed for everyone.

But surely any code for £30 off a zero minium spend, or £30 off a £50 spend is going to be a great buy whatever you buy, i just dont see the point in the front page being filled of titles of £90 phone, £60 table then you go into it then its only that amount if youve not used that code, or a first time customer or you wanna have multiple account with one catalogue - which im sure is fraudulent

Or maybe the front page is aimed at newbies who dont know how to look for a code, maybe having a voucher board, in site on the main boards would be better?
[admin]#26
Well I haven't used loads of first-time use codes yet (there's a lot out there).

I agree that listing generic tables etc is not a great use of space and I think generic items people can figure out for themselves off a hot voucher thread (and if they want to post what they bought in there). However, items like a popular handset, game consoles, ipods, stuff that is always extremely popular probably can support their own thread - with a qualifier in the title.

Thanks for the input admin, it is something that does drive me nuts when i see and even more nuttier when i see people advising others to sign up to multiple account, im all for misprices and bargains but these catalogue "bargains" get a bit much, anyway its your site but just thought ide get it off my chest, maybe a little more editing of the titles is needed ;-)

I am one of the offenders.

What I would say in my defence is some of the bargains in the catalogues only become bargains when the discount is applied.

I listed a Samsung U600 for £99 over the weekend.

A friendly challenge, for every U600 you find cheaper, I will disprove your theory that £30 off any item in the catalogue becomes a bargain by finding 10items that are still overpriced once discount is applied.

Ok, not everything would be as bigger items tend to be overpriced anyway, but most clothing, small electrial items, etc, etc will be a bargain with £30 knocked off

P.s you did actually put it in the title it was a catalogue and using codes

Thanks, I do understand where you're coming from.

I purposely highlighted the pitfalls of Littlewoods in order to avoid the usual arguing, but it has been voted cold so I now know to avoid posting those deals again. :) Lesson learnt.

Oh i wouldnt vote anything cold, i just wouldnt vote, it really isnt about the codes and the deals, as long as its stipulated in the title

Anyone else fed up with the deals involving the littlewoods codes ???

There are loads of deals being posted, all with the same codes being used & it's getting tedious...

Couldn't one "Littlewoods Deals" be posted with the codes on the 1st post & all the other "deals" posted within this thread ??

use code XX230 for 20% off

Use code ZG0333 for £30 off

Use code ZQ298 for £2.95 off

I find half of the Hot Deals is full of stuff like that now. More of a tips forum than a Hot Deal forum now.
