i just keep seeing alot of people relist stuff in the fs baords and i swear its because they think there threads have gone, maybe they think they autoremove after so long or summat, makes no sense to have the default with stuff excluded
[admin]#2
No by default you see expired items. You need to turn it off if you don't want to see them anymore.

oh that cancels out my theory then, just seen a new member relist an item for the 5th time in a week, all other threads state do not relist, why would someone ignore them f they see that :?

paul, can you double check on that please

Unless it's changed since I joined, 'cos I can remember being told by someone, I think it was a mod, to include expired and I had to ask how to do that 'cos I'd never seen the option before, and therefore I couldn't have turned it off if I hadn't even seen it.

yes i had a funny feeling it may have been the default, hence me asking paul to recheck this

another one here, who maybe cant see an expired thread, maybe you could ask them

I took a look not logged in and it definitely shows expired. If you test things out lmk.

i had already tried that before posting this thread and mine shows when not logged in, but that maybe the cookies, i find it hard to believe new members keep listing when the expired threads tell them what to do, anyone wanna clear their cookies whilst not logged in and look please

cant delete mine as dont know half the usernames to my survey sites - lol

i do feel it is important for this to be checked admin, as new members maybe unfairly getting threads locked and no relist because they cant see expired threads

Hi Sassie :)

It comes up as a default to INCLUDE expired for me both before and after logging in.

That's after running CCleaner and also IE7's own cleaning tool.

Hope that helps ::)

Is that what you have it set to at the moment anyway?
What if you set it manually to EXCLUDE expired and then clear all your cookies etc. and then log back in. What comes up then?

never thought of that, good thinking phil

i dont wish to appear rude but you would think admin would have checked with the developer, rather than i logged out and checked

Sassie,

Admin responded at 00:29

I would have thought it's cheaper for Admin to test himself rather than drag the developer(s) out of his kip at this time of night. :w00t:

ascottishbloke the thread has been up 24 hours, i managed to log in and out myself before posting this

ya know, like everyone else on this god damn site i dont know why i bother wasting my breathe, looking for ways to improve things, to get a response like, if you test things out lmk
[admin]#15
sassie I told you how it worked before but I was happy to look into it further if you believed there was a bug.

To be honest I/we are not going to spend a lot of time look into ruminations but if you had found something we definitely would have.

I've tried every way and it still comes up with the same default, i.e. it includes expired.

Apologies for the delay, my usual trick of dozing off :)

Not sure why there was such a hostile responses to someone who was only trying to help ??

Peace and respect all..............

I think (and I am not sure on this but seem to remember) that when the site change happened the original default was to exclude expired and it was changed later at members request, perhaps this is why there is some confusion over it.

I can remember (again I think I do ) that Admin actually commented on it.

Agreed Tony, there seems to be a bit of negativity creeping into Feedback recently that is not needed.

Just seemed a bit over the top really barney

Anyway with ref. to the rest of your post that is exactly what happened I seem to remember.

I'm not sure it's relevant but the thing that is slightly confusing is that on the "view options" the default shows as "exclude expired". Now whether new members realise they actually HAVE to click on that tab to action the view or whether they think that is ALREADY the view ??

Does that make sense ? Is it relevant ? Not sure.

Peace and respect all :)

Just wondering if new members are getting the exclude expired and thats why they keep relisitng when thigs are expired, cause they dont see them, just a thought

They could have previously searched for a voucher... after searching for a voucher it returns to "exclude expired" by default, wierd or what!

And so it does cuzzy ! Well spotted.

Well there's a valid explanation and if not an explanation it surely has to be a bug ??

Shock, horror, feedback works :w00t:

Only on Wednesdays Tony :-D

@cuzzy - Yeah... the reason is we made it exclude expired vouchers when people search for a voucher code so it won't show all the bad ones...

yes but it doesnt jump back to include expired, when you leave the vouchers board

Very confusing though for those who don`t know it reverts to "exclude expired" after searching.
I would have thought it would be easier to "exclude expired" yourself after search results show.

That would be a better option.
