If you exclude expired threads in FS, and the threads are closed properly (ie locked and expired) then this shouldn't be an issue.

Granted sometimes the only end up being locked, but the vast majority are expired.

Couldn't you just lock them and edit the final post to say they've been locked at OPs request rather than adding a new post and bumping it up?

I can understand the need to bump threads where an infraction is being issued but with the rest where the OP requests for it to be locked what is the point in bumping it? Surely there's nothing to gain from doing that?

Which is fine if everyone chooses to use that option however not all people do so, if you are trying to sell something and it is 3 pages down within 5 mins I dont think that many people will see it. All I seem to see each time I log on is numerous expiered / close / locked threads due various reasons.

Tbh this is a good point with FS/FT why do you bump the threads when locking them by request. A Mod edit of the last post with the words mod edit** in that special way you do it would surfice. Saving other listings from being dropped.

Very good point.

This same thing has been suggested a few times before.

When someone asks in a few months time, i'll refer them to this thread too. :)

Maybe after they see that what we are asking is perfectly easily done, they will listen?
