Was it the guy selling 40? This is bulk selling and not allowed here. If not, I'm not sure what you are referring to.

Well the guy was selling 1 box (of 40 cards) how is this any different from the people selling dvds or games on here, one this morning is for 2 boxes of 22 dvds?
pretty sure it wasn't a commercial sale not sure that that would be even relevent.
and now they will probably end up in some land fill rather than being recycled,, these polices need some thinking about and clarification.

I don't know what an ethernet card is, but if he is selling 40 of the same item, then how is this comparable to selling 22 dvd's?

If they are indeed different items, my apologies. :)

it is no different to selling more than 2 sim cards at a time, i would say the thread got reported, some get seen others dont, luck of the draw i suppose

Selling 40 ethernet cards is bulk selling.

Selling 22 different DVDs would not be bulk selling, but that judgement would have to be made on the individual threads and users.

If you are upset, the 22 dvd's are already for sale in another thread. ;-)

I'm confused - is selling a job-lot of 40 cards is bulk selling? (So its bulk-selling if they are sold in one lot as well as individually?)

If they are the same item, then it is bulk selling.

If he/she sold 1 at a time, it would be classed as a trader, and not a person getting rid of unwanted items.

Yes, bulk selling for both situations there.

Thanks - I take it then the rule is any sort of 'job-lot' with more than 2 identical items are considered bulk-selling?

A guideline really, as there are exceptions. Mods discretion. :)

so a box of marbles is a no no? because they are all identical, surely simply deleting a thread with no explanation is not polite to say the least, shouldn't it have been locked until the rules were clarified.
What irks me the most as stated was the fact that these will end up in a skip for landfill just because some mod got power mad. these models were made before ROHS legislation. maybe a rethink is appropriate here

Some mod got power mad by just following the rules of the forum?

If you make silly analogies, you won't be taken seriously.

Breaking the rules is not polite, why should the mods need to explain it to the seller and buyers?

Who stated that they would end up in landfill?

Legislation has got nothing to do with the reason for removal

by following their interpretation of the rules, i read them and saw no breech, the guy was selling 1 item and stated specifically no splits
