I doubt its going to happen!, Its been asked before along with a seperate help forum.

I think the main point is so the site doesn't get to cluttered.
#2
Great idea. There is no doubt supermarket deals should be on here. having a dedicated space makes perfect sense.
#3
I agree. Whilst I wouldn't like to see Hot deals split into lots of subforums (can imagine a mse type mess) I think supermarket deals could be the exception, it is different to most purchases as we need to shop each week, whilst I think a lot of people use this site for impulse purchases. I think it could be a very useful forum.

didnt know you could to a poll
[admin]#5
We will be adding a Grocery category but not a sub-forum
#6
Don't get me wrong, I use this site almost exclusivley for impulse buys - I don't realise that I need so many things untill I see them on here
But some of the supermarket deals have been excellent (£9.99 for 24 cans of calsberg at tesco was superb)

Me neither:giggle:

I also agree that the site is becoming cluttered with these BOGOF etc deals thus I'm finding I check the site now less and less as its not just a case of checking the forum page 1 every few hours. Its too time consuming when half of each page is related to a 10p off a tin of beans etc etc etc.

I've voted, it appears the same way as the majority - "Yes"
[mod]#10
Not voted but different people come here for different things.
#11
If you were going to have sub forums then I would like to see these sections

Food
Dvd's/Games/Consoles
Electrical
Computer
Tickets/Travel
Mobiles

I think these would cover the majority of deals posted on here.

I am not sure whether for me personally this would make things better or worse though as I tend to look through a wide variety of goods.

It may however be good for those that have no wish to view DVD's/Games for instance.
[admin]#12
Those categories are on the front page filters already greg_68 so you can sort by that (except food). I know not everyone uses those though which is something I'm looking to address.
#13
I wonder how other people navigate around this site, personally I never go to the front page and always go straight to the forum.

Don't deals have to be a certain 'heat' before making the front page? If so then not all deals are going to make there, so you must end up going to the forum anyway.

I don't see why you don't use the front page, it's invaluable. When I get on the forum, I go to the front page, click filter, and view all new deals since I have last been online. It's very handy.

I used to have a bookmark that took me directly to 'all deals' but gave up on that and now only go through the forum posts. Why? Well its the amount of detail in a lot of the deals posted, sometimes lasting 3-4 screens. It just looks cluttered, much easier to just scan the titles on the forum.
#17
...No...
#18
Voted yes, as a previous poster said I would normally be against this too as I would hate this place to end up as cluttered as the MSE forums (that's painfully slow to navigate) but this would be a good idea.

I never go to the front page of this site either, have the forums index bookmarked and always go there first.

Im a no...

It will be interesting to see how it pans out, But having the different supermarket threads constantly bumped up could be worse than the odd deal which is eventually bumped down.

(I'm on about the seperate supermarket threads BTW.)
#21
These supermarket threads are a temporary measure which we would like to try out until the forum is updated. The tag "supermarket deals" will get you straight to them.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/?tag=supermarket%20deals

I've clearly stated in my post what we wnat in those threads, and people are already starting to complain in them - these posts have been removed. I asked that you keep discussion in this forum, and those threads are for deals only.

I originally posted in the ASDA thread but then saw at the bottom of your post "All off topic posts will be removed", So I deleted it and moved it into here (Hopefully its the right place!)

I would rather see each deal being posted separately and then it's easier to spot, rather then searching through a 'Supermarket forum' to find a deal

I'd agree that the Asda Logo does look better with a white background :

Edit the real Asda logo looks like this though : http://graphics.asda.com/new-asda-corp/ASDAheader/logo_asda.gif

We can't please everyone all of the time. This is our measure in the meantime, we'll see how it goes.

I will miss out on deals now.

Me too. I dont agree that supermarket deals should be restricted to those threads, other deals arnt, for example, there is a increasing number of dell deals being posted, they arnt being restricted to a single thread, so other deals shoudnt!
#31
I voted no, its a stupid idea in my opinion. People will/could miss out on good deals because of deals being restricted to a single thread. It isnt fair, other deals arnt confined to single threads, such as game deals, dell deals etc.
#32
I think the 'Deals' area works very well, especially with the option to filter by retailer.

If there are going to be posts for individual retailers, with many offers this is going to get very messy and impossible to search through!
#33
If I'm interested in getting a bargain of a high value item, it doesn't matter to me which supermarket it's at, and so these restrictions will prevent me seeing it.
#34
i'm amazed how quick the mods are at deleting stuff
before i even clicked on "post quick reply" it was deleted
#35
They cant make it to the front page either!

Prepare to have this deleted!

lol that is so funny
[mod]#37
Wouldn't all the people having a moan about the people who do appreciate the supermarket deals now fall foul under the new Code of Conduct rules. :whistling:

• Users or groups of users who continue to attack other members because of their views and opinions, attempting to beat them down or demean them, will have posts deleted and may be banned.

Double Post.....

Sorry!

I posted this in the 'Comments and Suggestions' forum with a sub heading of 'Advice. Criticism. Suggestions. We can take it.'

And......................

IT GOT MOVED TO ANOTHER POST!

It looks like certain moderators in this forum are finding it difficult to realise that their ideas are not as popular as they would have liked; Either that or they are on a power trip.

Unless posts are offensive then I would imagine that in a forum with a title of

'Comments and Suggestions
Advice. Criticism. Suggestions. We can take it.'

Warrants that they are left unedited / moved by moderators!

Anyway... By the time I return to check this topic, I would imagine that this post has been deleted!

It wasn't moved, a moderator merged it to the same topic.
