Well, as we are a deal hunting forum by nature, this is to be expected. Although we have been seeing a lot of unneccessary thread spoiling lately, and the moderators have been taking steps to rectify this.

Admin is working on a new set of "fo sale" forum guidelines, which should be in place to help with this kind of thing.

If you think your thread has been unnecessarily ruined, please use the report abuse button and a mod will look into it.

Cool
Just saw my typo there. They are "fo sale" guidlines for mo'fos !
saxo..I agree to some extent but the problem is that some sellers are trying it on....usually the ones that simply join HUKD to post in the for sale forum and are asking above or near retail price for a item...and of course the occassional scammer....suspicions are raised when they never respond to the mods requests for photos, receipts etc so it's a natural reaction to start questioning the price etc.

Heehee!
Dino're like an elephant...LOL

then you go and get some numpty...

Are you a numpty Saxo?? :whistling: :giggle:
To be honest, if it's available for cheaper elsewhere then I think that this should be pointed out to the seller (so he/she can lower the price accordingly) and potential buyers (so they get the best deal).

The only way to do this is to post it in the forum.

This is, after all, a bargain-hunting website so it's not really on if members are paying over-the-odds prices to each other for products! However I agree that this should be done in a polite manner, as quite often the OP hasn't seen the product advertised for this price, and will quite happily lower their asking price.

IMHO if we are not allowed to inform ppl that the item for sale is overpriced, some poor new members (who have yet to "settle in") are going to get ripped off.
Im afraid the best thing about this site is also the worst (when coming to sell something)

Everyone here are bargain hunters, so your always going to get someone saying "you can get it cheaper with blah blah" because the people here have the knowledge to do so.

If your looking for a quick sale for your asking price im afraid the best place is ebay, where there are a lot of mugs willing to splash out without doing any research.
ROFL yeh ok ok ok i did that but i only did that as i was annoyed coz someone did that to me.
I dont normally do things like that !

LMAO.Excellent.:w00t: :w00t:
Shhheeeeeeesh ....ill go and get the spade and start digging :whistling: :p :giggle:

It was Emma and i totally hold my hand up and say what a tube iv just been hehe

I like that:- "what a tube iv just been" :giggle: I've never seen that saying before and it cracked me up. :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :giggle: :-D :-D :-D

HAHA :giggle: - Love It! Your right on the ball!

But on a more serious note now, I think that it's fair to show someone a cheaper price. To sell something you've gota be competitive, and if you can't - too bad!
Its not Xmas anymore MattC lol.........(change the subject) :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :p
So does this mean that the "Hot Deals" bit doesn't apply to the for sale forum ?

So if i were to find a post offering something in the hot deals section for £10 and then advertise it in the for sale forum for £20, no one should be allowed to tell potential purchasers that it's available cheaper elsewhere?
You ARE allowed to tell them, in a single simple post, providing a link to the cheaper offer. But we will remove further posts going on about the exact same point.

Admin is currently working on proper guidelines to clear this issue up.
tried to be somewhat diplomatic about it.

So was i.......  :whistling: :giggle:
