Yes, I have mentioned it most recently in this thread:

(and another example further down the thread)

It has been mentioned a few times before; most notably vibeone offered a solution to the issue in the combined "HUKD Bugs / Glitches" thread(s) but no action was taken as far as I am aware.

Actually, Developer/DevelopmentTeam seem to have been quiet this week. Admin has ramped down responses to feedback as well this week.

Perhaps the intake of new Helpers has meant everybody has gone on holiday! :)

After posting comment #15885 I scrolled back up the page to see a duplicate of #15882 either side of #15883:

Can you still see it now?

Can you still see it now?

No, refreshing the page (either using [F5] in the client browser, or viewing another page & returning) then displays the page correctly.

Posting a subsequent comment also returns the comment numbering presentation to the expected (sequential) numbering (without duplicate entries).

PS. I have numerous other examples (across various different [version of] web browsers) but I have not posted these images as I was waiting for feedback (see comment #5) first.

I presume the rendering of the HTML for presentation to the client browser is the issue rather than any specific client browser.

If/when (more likely) this happens again is there any information I can gain for you to help investigate the problem? For example, javascript code I can submit into the browser address bar to report on the value (or lack of value) of any client side variables (either from the HTTP header, or otherwise)?

I have added this to the queue, it is indeed a presentation problem. Thanks for the help, fanpages. :)

One question, actually. After you posted your new post (in the screenshot your provided) did your new post show up below what is shown? Thanks.

The comment I posted was in the correct position in the numbered threads; at the bottom of the page.

That is, after the second #15882, there was #15884, then my comment (#15885).

Thanks again.

...and again...

I posted comment #35, replied to comment #33 (that was not in the thread when I began replying), & when I submitted my second comment (#37), I saw that comment #36 had been duplicated.

Was comment #36 visible before you submitted comment #37? Or did it auto-add when you submitted #37?

It "auto-added"; comment #35 was the last on my page when I began my reply & prior to the submission of my text.

No further comments were added in this thread after I submitted comment #10 & saw comment #9 had been duplicated...

I deleted my individual comment & re-posted:

No issue on this occasion (even though the thread was then receiving many more posted comments on a minute-by-minute basis).

I think I have enough examples to work from, thank you all for your time and patience. :)

You're welcome.

I think you were on to something with posting whilst others were also posting.

As a test a few minutes ago, I left an ongoing active deal thread in one window of my Mozilla Firefox browser as others contributed.

In another window I saw that additional comments had been posted.

I went back to the original window I had left open, but did not refresh it.

I then posted a new comment & when the page refreshed there was duplication of the preceding comment on the page.

Thanks for looking into this.

We've released a fix for this issue. Hopefully it is now resolved. It was fairly tricky. Rest easy, Citizens.

When was it released, Hero'?

Most of the threads I have posted within today (prior to 7pm) have had the problem as previously described (above).

About 2 hours ago. Keep in mind it is a javascript change, so your browser may be caching that file.
#30
Specifically I'm referring to the bug where two comments with identical #'s are posted in the "auto-refresh" after you submit a comment.

Which file are you referring to? I'll just remove that from my cache folder so it is retrieved again from the server.

Thanks; yes, I gathered that was what you were referencing.

Thanks for your "Private Message".

I replied to thank you but "User does not have private messaging enabled".

Unrelated request (sorry):
Can a User's "Private Message" status (enabled or disabled) be queried when the message is "delivered" to the "inbox" (or, rather, the message is opened) & be displayed for the recipient to see?

Previously I have typed quite a lengthy piece of text to a member only to find upon sending it that the other user is not accepting messages.

Just a thought.

I'll remove the file you mentioned & (obviously) let you know if I find any issues.

Thanks again.

Thanks for bringing it up you guys! We'll look into this again. I'm assuming when you refresh the page, the duplicates disappear?
