If it was to come on here , I would want an option to include or exclude all e-bay offers ( default being exclude) :)

i am not sure about this but i think it is to do with "Self Promotion", (listing something on ebay then coming here to tell everyone about it)

The can of worms opening ceremony would be a major event if this was done.

Besides, you only joined a short while ago, so you could always leave and create a site that does exactly what you want. I'll stay here because I LIKE ebay deals being banned.

Its just too much of a grey area.

I have absolutly nothing to do with ebay other than getting a few bargains on it. However, I agree with the other chap why not offer it but have it filtered.

Why do you not want choice or are you happy with spending all your money with corporate companies.

Give it 10 years and we will all work for Tesco!!!!;-)

I agree general ebay listings would be woefully painful to go through on a daily basis.

However there are a number major names now running ebay shops or 'Outlets' as they are being called. Argos is one of them.

I'm not sure Hotukdeals makes money on referels there. Quidco now works on there.

The only suggestion I could come up with would be an ebay section. But this would be a big push for HUKD.

Yeah I guess a lot of companies have clearance outlets and such. Like MandMdirect, littlewoods and prepaymania. But there are a plethora of issues attached I would imagine, just where do you draw the line. It is a decent idea, but with plenty of potential problems attached.

I'm not sure how much longer HUKD can afford to wholesale ban Ebay sellers. It certainly must be the case that members here are missing out on some very good deals from reputable retailers. The interesting thing is that many of these retailers are already listed HUKD merchants and are using Ebay to shift excess stock and/or create extra revenue through another online outlet.

The obvious problem is how to exclude private and one off sales because they would surely not be wanted on HUKD. Perhaps this could be done by just allowing Ebay shops on HUKD, I'm not sure ?

As with most problems though there must be an answer for the good of the community and I would presume that Admin is already well aware of the situation ? Maybe the powers that be at Ebay have an answer, they are never shy of promoting the Ebay brand.

Oh and before the accusations start to appear, I personally have been one of the most anti Ebay members around but I do hate to miss a bargain and "cutting the nose to spite the face" has never been a good option for me.

Seasons greetings :)

Would seem Ebay "deal of the day" are allowed http://www.hotukdeals.com/all/deals/discussed?merchant_search=eba&mf=25108 it`s a start.

You make some good points... HUKD subscribers are missing out, the reason I posted this subject was that I found a cracking deal on ebay from a company with a private website with good rep and trades independantly from ebay as well. The post was up for only a couple of hours and was well on its way with 54+ degrees. It then got pulled.... Who loses out????

Also to stop the small one off Ebay traders you need to meet strict criteria to be published on HUKD also have good rep and prove you have available stock. You can not ignore the biggest WEB Market in the world if you are looking for good deals.

Thats because its "The Hut" and probably already recognised as a trader they deal with. So it begs the question, why can we not post other deals on Ebay.

I personally would not want ebay deals on here...as the site would become full of them. I think most people on here look at HUKD and then look at ebay as well for a price comparison. If ebay was on here I think this site would lose its integrity.

Please please do not include ebay. Everybody knows to look on there anyway. Lets not ruin this site which over the last few years i have loved.

Interesting.
So you would rather miss out on a good deal or pay more for an item rather than order through an Ebay Merchant Shop ?

Serious question, no offence intended. :)

GIVE ME 3 GOOD REASONS

TO INCLUDE EBAY SHOPS

1. Gives everyone more choice.
2. More quality bargains on offer.
3. One centralised place to come for all hot deals, less reason to search Ebay!

WHY HUKD WOULD POSSIBLY NOT DO IT

1. More Work to administer and police.
2. Difficult for HUKD obtain commissions for extra work involved - we all have to make a living
3. HUKD have own trade area, possible conflict

REASONS TO BAN IT
So far we have had...
"too much of a grey area" - needs more elaboration!
"Woefully painful to search through" - not with search filters on the tool bar
“site would lose integrity”- that would be down to good policing by subscribers and administrators.
And finally, site full of Ebay's deals - Excellent!

I am not going to do all the work, what would be the pros and cons?

Not seen a good argument to BAN IT yet!;-):-D

it really is this simple...there is no question about it...if you want ebay deals...go to ebay!
Ebay are a market not a store, and thus should not be here no matter what.

+1 iv had nothing but bother with ebay, ebay is rubbish, i actully really do hope ebay does not come on hukd, ( should this not be in feedback? )

Funnily enough this is one issue where this works against the argument:

" 2. Difficult for HUKD obtain commissions for extra work involved - we all have to make a living"

We actually probably lose a lot of money by not pushing eBay...

Are you saying that you could make revenue out of it? Would it be very difficult to administer?

Just to make my contribution to this feedback absolutely clear, I personally would never support private ebay sales for either new or 2nd hand goods being shown on HUKD. That would be impossible to Police and/or administer.

I honestly think the Ebay shop/merchant situation is a different debate ?

Alan Peck, do you have a "relationship" on any level with Ebay ??

Just to make my position loud and clear I have noting to do with Ebay at any level other than a general user that has made 90 transations, mostly purchases.

Personally, I do not give a hoot about Ebay... I just think a global ban on all business that trade on Ebay (which is only a portal/market for a business to adertise/ trade) is not in anyones best interest.

There are some reputable businesses that have great deals, that are simply not allowed to be posted on this site.

What is the logic in that?

PS,. I also agree with you about 2nd hand goods or one off trades... that would be rediculous.

Your idea is better than mine
I'm not a big fan of ebay but sometimes comes in handy and to have it as a seperate section where you wud have to physically click is better ( IF it was ever gonna be put on here)
