So when it is fixed we will get an alert for every deal posted? Just to let you know I wasn't alerted about your reply either...

Ok - thread subscription is different than deal alerts right? Which do you mean? An alert on the deal or thread subscription alert? Because I'm not sure about the latter.

I have just been alerted now that you replied to this thread, but what I am after is the deal alerts back. So when someone posts a deal we immediately get noted of it....

Ok yes - the deal alerts will be active again. I've just talked to one of the dev guys about it and he said they are currently too intensive to run so they are being optimised then they will be real time again.

Fantastic so it will be like before were you get 1 email per deal posted and not like we had at the beginning with 1 email and loads of deals....

Yes one email per deal I believe ... it should be realtime or close to realtime.

In the meantime I'd recommend RSS as it's working ok and totally realtime plus you never have to delete stuff and it updates live.

Excellent - just what I wanted to hear. If the deal alerts come back everything will be solved for me.

I don't know what the RSS feed is but I'll look into that.

What email program do you use? In many it's now possible to receive RSS feeds like emails anyway? You could set those up... they're very reliable and you shouldn't notice the difference.

All I want is my deal alerts back......

Any update how long this will take please?

These are now back, although they won't come unless you add forums or merchants or categories to the list in custom tabs.

Sorry for being thick, but what do you mean?

Click on "Customise" under the "Advanced" top right.
Use the drop down box to choose what forums you want .
eg
Click on deals then the + in the green circle
repeat for any other forum (s) you want.

Mine looks like this :-
Deals x
Vouchers x
Freebies x Crosses are in a red circle

You can then filter by category, merchant and/or tags if you wish.
Set your filtering preferences - mine are online/offline and active
Set your viewing preferences: - mine are detailed view and new
Tick "Send alerts via Email" and Press SAVE

Hope this is clear enough for you. There was a post by someone else with easy instructions but I cannot find it.
