  It looks like you're signed up for thread email alerts on your custom-settings page. Can you tell me if the boxes there are checked?

  I have the following check boxes checked:
  
  Set your filtering preferences:
  - Available Online
  - Available Offline
  - View Active
  
  Receive Email/RSS Alerts:
  - Send alerts via Email
  - Group Email alerts
  
  No other check boxes exist.

  Looking at our e-mail logs, it looks as if you have been receiving the digest e-mails (every 15 minutes) and looking at your filtering options, it would be correct to send you a notification for every deal. Having no thread types selected defaults to all of the thread types. So if you would like to only receive notifications for "deals" for example, you'd select that from the drop down.

  I also have this account. It has the same check boxes checked, but I'm not being bombarded with an email every 15 minutes.

  According to our e-mail records, you gmail account is getting sent an e-mail every 15 minutes.
  
  It's possible one account is moving it to spam, and the other is not.

  You can test your filtering settings by going to the custom page at http://www.hotukdeals.com/custom This shows all the threads you have/would get e-mail alerts for. Alternatively, you could also check the RSS feed that is generated on your custom settings page at https://www.hotukdeals.com/custom-settings .
  
  Unfortunately we do not do keyword/name matching as your pseudocode would suggest, we only do matching against registered tags (== matching, not contains) and registered merchants (thread has to be assigned a merchant). The best way to figure out what is going on would be to take a look at the custom page or the RSS feed and keep tweaking the settings until you get what you would like from it.
  
  If I'm misunderstanding, please let me know. A screenshot of your settings might also help me figure out what is going on. Thanks!

  I figured you would only be doing a match against registered tags. My psuedocode took this into account...If you're interested
  
  The custom page and rss feed appear to be showing me what I want.
