just one question without going around expiring random threads how do you knw if your rep is high enough.

Did I just Spam your post ?

Didnt mean to if I did, was just pressing it to see if it worked

Hmmm. And no, it didnt work.

I'm not sure one person can spam a thread. It's probably a good thing. If you expire something it can still be seen, so if someone makes a mistake or does it malicioulsly, it can be quickly spotted by others and corrected. If a thread is spammed then it is removed from general view altogether, and there would be no way of normal uses spotting wrongly spammed threads.

When I look at this post it now has a strike through on the "Spammed" text.

That's because you pressed spam, so can't press it again. On mine, the spam link is still available.

If enough people press 'spam', then the thread dissapears and it becomes 'spammed'. :)

I think its always best if it takes 2 VIP's to SPAM a deal.

I'm just saying, surely it should therefore be 2 to expire a deal as well?

I don’t think so on this basis...

If you expire a deal either by accident, maliciously etc... then it is very easy for you or someone else to post in the deal and say woops or hit the report button to get a mod to unexpire.

If you hit the SPAM button and the deal disapears then no one is able to suggest moving it back and as you can no longer see the deal you cannot post in it nor easily report it to a mod, you would have to PM them.

ADVERT: If you need to PM an online mod why not use my Mod Messenger!

To be honest im not sure they like my application that i made, they prefer you use the report button, but you cant if its been spammed so...

I'd agree with that. I accidently clicked it once in a thread (purely down to dodgy touchpad on a laptop) and it went expired. Whilst I posted to get it corrected (and was), it shows flaws in the system.

Expiring is different to spamming. When you expired it, you could see your mistake and have it corrected (or someone else could), so deals that are expired by mistake can be spotted.

Spammed messages dissapear altogether, so no one (apart from the mods) would be able to spot the mistake. That's why (I'm guessing) you need more than one to spam a thread.
