Ace,

I'd guess this would be declined as it may push other valid threads down the page and into HUKD history. You'd be the only one to benefit in this instance.
#2
Think it could be a good idea if you are selling different things and expire them of different dates. I think it should be aloud :-D
#3
It would only be a one wee bump though? And just after you have expired the thread so it would soon get lost down the pages again?

Naw...................

Ace can't remember when he expired the thread, if he did the extra bump wouldn't be an issue. All he has to do is PM himself whenever he expires a thread or keep a note elsewhere whenever an event takes place. Just a wee bit of organisation really.
#5
Organisation?? What is this word you speak :p
#6
This idea just don't fly.
#7
Ace why don't you just add "expired XX/XX/2009" to the first post, then you wouldn't have to look through the whole thread to find it.

(19) When a thread is expired, closed or removed from the FS forum, the same items must NOT be relisted until a period of at least SEVEN DAYS has passed from the date it's closed and expired. Those same items must NOT be listed or offered in ANY other active thread. * It's YOUR responsibility to use the 'report' button to have your active threads closed BEFORE relisting.

why would you not lock a thread up if it is finished with?

guess mods dont have the chance all the time, anyway what i saw before is right, doesnt HAVE to b locked, just 7 says after being expired.

i think you will find it has to be 7 days from being locked as said above it is your responsibility to do this, but wont argue with ya ;-)

yeye i see where uve hit the rules im just saying it doesnt happen so users just have to expire it and there good to go, seen it happen all the time sass.

i always expire then report the thread askin for it to b locked but i bet u i am 1 of a very small percentage that do this.

ace i questioned this some months ago due to the confusion of the expired v locked

lol just checked it, lucky not to get infraction off ray haha!

thing is, they say they suspend everyone etc but thats not really the case, lots of ppl relist after 7 days of expiring their thread without the lock done aswell and they are fine with it.

and lots get infraction/suspension for doing it, so 50/50 really, im sure you will be ok though

just thought id add to the wording aswell, as i think thats why there is a bit of confusion

When a thread is expired, closed or removed from the FS forum, the same items must NOT be relisted until a period of at least SEVEN DAYS has passed from the date it's closed andexpired. Those same items must NOT be listed or offered in ANY other active thread. * It's YOUR responsibility to use the 'report' button to have your active threads closed BEFORE relisting.

the and/or wording is very offputting if u just read the first couple of lines ur given the impression that if one of these things are done, ur good to go, but then if u read on and read the "expired and locked" bit, ur thinking, hmm does that mean both need to b done.

well lets wait and see if you get a mod response aye, the way i see it is an open thread means one that can be posted in, and as you cannot list an item in more than one open thread its obvious it should be locked 7 days before relisting, and by the way mods dont read threads unless reported, hence probs why its 50/50

im not worries about me, i havent ever relisted anything yet, i just dont agree that its 50/50 on the suspension/infraction front, id say the only ppl who ever get infracted are the ppl who relist before the 7 days are up, the mods never say "excuse me but it was expired 7 days ago but not locked..heres an infraction"

they always say"u have not waited 7 days since it was expired"

i dont expect a mod to come in here and agree with me that this is true as it will look like they have been very slack on a rule, but i just have a strong suspicion that im right.

ye i totally understand ur reasoning, just saying that isnt what happens.

ppl expire, wait 7 days relist, sell item, no problem.

not

ppl expire and make sure its locked, wait 7 days, relist, sell item, no problem

or

ppl expire dont bother with locked, wait 7 days, relist, mod tells them off for no lock, infraction issued.

Sassie is correct.

* It's YOUR responsibility to use the 'report' button to have your active threads closed BEFORE relisting
.

You have to report a thread to be closed before re-listing. We infract on many threads that have been member expired but not MOD closed/locked. Unless a thread is locked you can still continue trading & that happens when the OP gets an offer & the trade continues etc. Once a thread is correctly reported & closed / locked only a MOD can post in the thread & therefore trading in that thread has ceased.

It's a week's wait from the date that the thread was closed/locked before a re-post is allowed.

Thanks .
