I've dropped them a wee email but no good. More annoying when you've left rep and good feedback. :x

never expect anything back and you wont be disappointed

Never too bothered about rep but it is annoying when you sell something and people dont leave feedback.
I have sent people PM's asking for feedback but nothing back at all.

Been brought up many times before.
Leaving Feedback after a trade is a chore, and I know I haven't bothered with it a few times because of that.

for someone who is such a stickler for the 'rulez', I find it amazing that you cannot be bothered to do this 5 second chore

I don't believe it's in the rules, and it's not 5 seconds.

As does not leaving any at all?

Not leaving feedback does not have a detrimental effect to the system.
Leaving feedback "In any old" thread does, as it undermines the system.

If I look at someones feedback who has been left it "In any old thread", I will find that there was actually no trade done by the person who left it in that thread.

I would then be left thinking whether it was just done for an extra feedback "point", part of a scam, a mistake, left because someone else had already left one etc etc.

I have only looked at a members feedback once or twice on here because I know that this sort of practice goes on, so what's the point of using it as one of the tools to gauge a members worth.

Leaving no feedback does not carry these consequences. it does not put someone in a worse position than they were before.

Not leaving feedback surely negates the point of a feedback system completely? Any other problem that stems from this ie. incorrect thread titles for specific feedbacks would surely depend on leaving some in the first place . . . . .

Not sure if you understood what I wrote, but I believe not leaving feedback is the lesser of two evils.
I believe it has a neutral effect to the system.

Best = Leaving feedback in the correct thread.
Neutral = Leaving none.
Worst = Leaving Feedback in the wrong thread.

If I was leaving a negative, then I would go out of my way to negotiate the overly fussy feedback system.
For a positive, I will if I can be bothered to.

There have been times where I have been PM'd by members who wish to leave me positive feedback, and I have PM'd them back to tell them not to bother.

I understood your point, however didn't understand the logic at the same time . . .

Neutral = Leaving none.

Thats an interesting viewpoint on the system :) I would have said that worst would be false or retaliatory feedback not someone trying to give credit to a good trade or sale and "sidestepping" the thread restrictions the site presents.

Anyhoo, this seems to be a personal viewpoint and i'm not saying your take on the system is wrong, however, as a relatively new member contending with the current mentality of "low feedback? Will you post first . . . " running in FS/T - I appreciate their frustrations.

I also think leaving retaliatory feedback is worse, but that was not one of the things mentioned in this thread.

It's all a personal viewpoint, as long as it's not abused, then it's all acceptable.

I too appreciate their frustrations, the symptom is members not leaving any, but the cause is the feedback system.
No one is forced to post first, I don't believe I did it when I started.

Neither was leaving feedback in an incorrect thread in the original OP - its just the discussion evolving by incorporating other variables of the overal discussion

Agreed 100% :)

Neither did I, however, as you have probably noticed - if a new member lists, the old protocol was "Feedback elsewhere, Pics of item with username, contact details" (not necessarily in that order) Now its "will you post first?" Even people with under 5 feedback do it . . . . Thats another thread altogether though!

I started on here leaving rep & feedback after every trade I did but people just didn't bother to leave me any in return, only half my trades have been left feedback!

then yuo should PM those concerned. A simple reminder has always worked for me. Stopping leaving feedback just makes matters work.

I don't feel I should have to chase people its just polite.

absolutely annoying. I had to email some woman three times to get feedback, because my payment was on hold till I received it!, then after that it was positve but was something like 'fine'. She clearly didn't know the new rules about payments on hold.

Also had my first negative feedback because I stupidly sold to some crazy chav, and I couldn't leave negative feedback in return. Crazy

Its only a matter of time before someone who gets negative feedback for no reason goes round that person's house and breaks their legs!!
