Good point and I agree. If there is no permanent record of the original sale details, then the OP is free to manipulate prices and even items listed in a way that could be abused in a whole host of ways.
#2
Agreed. If you can list in the second post it kind of defeats the purpose of not being able to fully edit the opening post.
#3
Disagree i used to like it before when you could edit because sometimes you make mistakes etc and also when you want to add an item its like all the way down and most of the time people dont read that part and posting the second box always helps i think.

Dont get me wrong I think you should be able to edit the opening post as I guess the MOD's can see what edits have been made should there be a issue.

However as for whatever reason the MOD's have decided that isn't acceptable it seems worthless if people can simply list and edit post 2, if this is allowed then there's no point in not being allowed to edit the OP

isnt adding items just another way of bumping your own thread? say i had 20 items for sale, listed 5 of them, then kept adding one item every-so-often just so i can keep my thread quite high in the pagins when only 2 bumps per thread are allowed? i would have had 15 free bumps then

if you needed to sell more items, then a new thread should really be started.
thats my opinion anyway :whistling:

then any amendements needing to be made get added onto the OP so if you make a mistake, then you can make an amendment rather than changing. that way you can still correct mistakes.

Well can't we list the items in the thread as normal then copy and paste it into the #1 post so that people can refer to that post to know which items have been sold etc?

thats what i have suggested.........

"it should be that yes, you can list items in the second post for editing, but only if the EXACT same is in the OP."

Bumping this as it seems to be happening even more now. What with the amount of people claiming to be scammed lately I think this really needs looking into.

If the person thinking about dealing with someone who has items listed in post #2 quotes it, there is no argument as to what they are replying to.

People seem to be inherently daft, and no amount of nannying will save them from themselves.

Of course what I completely forgot about is that people can edit quotes to say whatever they like making quoting useless as evidence.

I agree with the point in the thread, all edits should be visible hence they should be in the first post.

I didn't "forget", but if the original quote has not been edited, then the "Doctored" quote must be...Doctored.
i.e, if you didn't point out you edited my "Quote", anyone looking can see who has been tinkering.

I was once accused of editing my post, I asked a mod to clarify, and they confirmed in the thread that I hadn't.
Good enough "evidence" as far as I am concerned.
