But for the first thread, would an OEM version not have been useless to him?
#2
"Sent PM."

Ha ha ha, do you ever worry that you might be a hypocrite??

Edit: And if you were just PMing pics, then why didin't you reply to emma when she picked you up on it???

anyway, if you feel that you have been "messed about" then PM col the FS/FT mod, but from those 2 threads I really don't see anything,,,
#3
Penalties should be imposed for those that behave like this, no?

Did you report them?
#4
Well, to be honest in the first one you were selling a system specific version of Vista that the buyer would probably have had problems installing and the second one you PM'ed images when they should be posted in the thread as per the FS/FT rules. Then the buyer did other stuff by PM and you're not happy. You can't really have it both ways, this is why the rules are there so that it's all clear and transparent for those taking part.

I agreed to a post the other day a guy looking for something that I had. We agreed a price, sorted. Contacted him a day later...I have just bought it on Ebay...It seems that things for sale or requests on here are the same as everywhere else, people suit themselves no matter what the rules are, what you say,or what you agree on,the world is going to pot! Sell up and move to an island somewhere, get yourself off the radar! THEY'RE COMING!!!

in the case of the second thread (of which I was a participant) the buyer apparantly accepted your offer by offering paypal payment, then within minutes had made another offer on another thread.

In fact I made a post at the time commenting that another offer had been made on another thread but retracted it as I didn't want it to be perceived as sour grapes as I'd not been successful in the sale.

Not sure it's specifically against the rules however goes against the ideals of a forum like this, if we want to get mucked about we'll go on ebay and pay the price.
#8
So, I think thay "the world is going to pot" might be a little OTT over someone buying on ebay instead of from you?! And you may have agreed it rehydrated, but I doubt the rules say hardly anything on WTD posts, unless they've changed recently..and as for your paranoia "they're coming" maybe you should get that seen to?? :?

I think rehydrated, that you'll have to accept that some of the a******** in the FS/FT forum can't be taken at their word...

Whats with all the selling of OS CD's which are clearly not for resale on the forums recently anyway?

You cannot sell on an OEM copy unless you are selling on complete with system hardware

You cannot sell express-upgrade CDs supplied as part of the Vista Express Upgrade Program

Lol, fair point :)

The OP is complaining about a thread where they were selling something they shouldn't be selling anyway (see the photo in the first thread listed above, note what it states quite clearly on the software box...)

I'm sure that your BT bill comes at a regular schedule, so by agreeing to buy something and then welching on the deal you were in fact a time-waster.

Selfish is what you were being.

Possibly, but BT bills are as regular as clockwork, and can be checked online, so no reason for a shock.

Your making assumptions, i have no need to give out personal information to justify myself to someone who dowsnt know me nor is involved in the situation.

My point was that some people have valid reasons that they cannot go thru with a deal they have accepted, and they should be allowed to change their mind. Without having to give out private/personal information about their life and citcumstances. It did not need nor deserve your 'opinion'

FULFILLING YOUR TRADE OBLIGATIONS

(11) Offer and acceptance of trade or sale must be posted in relevant thread. You must NOT deal by PM only.

(12) Once an offer has been made and accepted the trade should be considered final. Sellers who accept an offer and subsequently accept a higher offer from another member may be banned from trading. On the flip side members who submit an offer and subsequently cannot fulfill it due to lack of funds will be banned from trading.

(13) Goods remain the responsibility of the seller until the buyer takes possession and affirms they are okay. For this reason be honest in your descriptions and include original photos so the buyer knows what they are getting! Also, use a form of insured and signed for delivery to ensure any shipping/delivery mishaps will be covered

looks like ill be banned from trading then....

on topic tho....i do disagree that people make a deal then make a deal for the same thing somewhere else...its one thing to mis-calculate funds but its another to simply back out for a better deal....

i think ts called decency really, i bd on something on ebay yesterday, then relaised i had done worng, i contacted the seller to ask if they wouldmutually withdraw and relist the right item, i also said i totally understand if this is a problem and will pay for the goods if it is, i was lucky she was understanding, mutually withdrew and relisted. I dont know if they would have been so understanding had i just not paid and didnt want to buy, someone on here also asked for something, asked me to keep hold till he had the money, kept posting in the thread that they till wanted, so i kept hold, then nothing and never did come back, that is just plain rude, and i suppose after a few members like that then people do get peed off no matter what the reason

I beleive that was the 360 games you agreed to purchase from me. The fact is, you wasted my time, hence me calling you a time waster. Nothing personal, I just don't like being messed about, and when i'm made an offer, accept the offer and am told to be expecting payment the following day, then don't. I am a little bit annoyed.

I don't think this makes me not understanding or selfish. YOU are the person in the wrong Sir, not me...

i wasnt refering to you as selfish and nt understanding i just mean in general people today are not very understanding and just think it has inconvenienced them...no thought for the other person who may have a hard situation to get thru.....that is what i meant, i was not calling you in particular ....just to make that clear....

i know i was in the wrong, i never said you were...i just think people in certain situations should be able to change their minds....i had no choice...id have prefered to buy the games....

and also im not a sir...more of a madam...or lady.....whichever suits...lol

I sold a Ipod Touch on here a few weeks ago. Had two people one after the other agree to buy it then got pm's saying that they could not afford it. Its life. Move on and get over it.

I think you're missing the point.

In my instances, and the point of my posting this thread to discuss - both deals were with people who then went on to buy the (same) item from someone else...

dude you think you have it bad, I bought an supposedly working refurbished Ipod on here of someone and when I found it not to be working (kept resetting) I sent it back, but I never sent it recorded and he claimed he never got it :(... so I lost out on £50 and people on here still said it was my fault for not sending it recorded. even though i have better feedback than him :/

I agree wth them - unless you have proof he received it then why would you expect him to refund you? It could quite easily have been lost or stolen in the post. If it were the other way round would you have refunded someone who said they posted something to you and you didn't receive it? At least you can claim £34 from royal mail with the POP to get most your money back.

feedback has everything to do with it, the guy dint even believe I had sent it, I am an honest person an I have never ripped anyone off. anyway I do have the receipt and it does have his postcode on it, but It might be to late to make a claim as this happend at christmas.

I think you have up to a year to make a claim, give royal mail customer services a ring, it should be fairly straight forward, £34 is better than nothing
