Please it's the weekend, why are you complaining ? Just Relax and take in the fresh air.
#2
I'm commenting not complaining.
Do you feel my comments were aimed at you or something? :D

I agree, it's obvious sometimes that a person has joined to only post something for sale from their personal eBay or business site.

If that happens, which it will the more the site grows, they're normally deleted as soon as possible. I don't think it would make that much difference on post count though, as they could post only quick replies to gain the amount needed to enter that exclusive forum [if there was one].
[admin]#4
It's not a bad idea scrooge. It would also limit the FS/FT forum to people who have at least some reputation on the site. I don't see impementing it asap but I will keep it in mind. We'll see how things develop.
#5
to be honest i wouldn't buy from anybody with a post count of 1 or 2, i would only buy from an active member of the forum!
#6
any news on implementing this idea?

i was just about to post about it aswell

definitely a good idea, post count maybe 50 or 100 posts to access the for sale section

theres been many scammers on this site, and i think this will help reduce them.
#7
I think even getting ur post count up is easy...look at the last one or the second one...he posted on the deals..saying thanks to many things. i think the BEST thing to do is noone is allowed to SELL until they have bought, recieved, and had feedback left. this means we have their address and name , and thir details..of however they paid....

another method tossed up between a few members would be for us as buyers and forum members to validate someones identity by sending them a number etc to their address and them telling u it when they get it...meaning ud have their details...again tho this would mean either not allowing them to post in the fs/ft forum until this is complete...or using the same method as is used now and advise memebrs to do this...which clearly doesnt work....because some memebrs are so worried about missing a deal they dont check properly..

maybe even only make the fs/ft avalable to view and post when memebrs have been checked out....there are a lot of us good traders on here and its a shame to have HUKD and the fs/ft forum targetted by chancers...

just my bit...im tired so sorry for the rambling

On one of the "other" forums I'm a member of, it's a 50 post minimum before they can sell.

This is so that people don't just come on the forum to sell items and ensures that people have made a contribution to the site before using it to their own advantage.

I was just about to start a thread on this topic, but saw this instead. I do think there needs to some sort of new ruling on it, but disagree that a seller must purchase beforehand. For example, I have bought and sold a few things on here yet my feedback is 0 because they haven't left me any!
#9
500 post minimum......
#10
.......excluding misc posts
#11
Think 500 is a bit excessive! What sort of post counts do the people on traders to avoid list have (I gather some had quite high counts so this certainly wouldn't be a faultless solution)
#12
500 is waaaayyyyy to high! I've been here nearly a year and only got to just over 500.

It's only a small block on the forum just to help avoid people coming onto the site specifically for buying/seller, should be 20/50 posts IMO.
#13
Its rep that matters not posts!

You could soon amass loads of posts for example by posting on Last one to post, wins! and similar.
#14
If you set a target for this idea you will encourage yes,no,thanks or other nonsensicle posts just to achieve the target set.
By the way know doubt I'll get a post count of 1 for this reply to which I think I deserve.
Regards
:)

Maybe you also make a bigger point about people dealing by pm -yes i have a grumble as i wanted to buy a phone through the thread -but lost out as it was dealt by pm AGAIN !

You can amass lots of rep too!
:whistling:

I suggest keep the FS/FT forum, but at buyers/sellers risk. If it goes pear shaped ,its down to you to sort out. A bit like gambling!

Also, if the buying/selling feedback was shown on your mini-profile (where your avatar is) so everyone can see it, this will keep minds at ease and you would then know who was genuine...

seing this quite a lot lately, and people are doing it quite blatanly also.

plus this tends to then rush sales through as people dont want to mis out and that is when you can start getting problems as all the checks dont get caried out.

it will always be down to the members anyway, but implementing new safety measures along the way is always a positive thing
#21
I think it should be dropped altogether too much hassle.

Yea, but without the 'code of conduct' for it  That may make buyers feel that HUKD has some kind of responsibility for it, and it is perfectly safe...
#23
see someone has joined up yesterday and first 2 posts are personal sales totaling over £100...

doesn't look too good does it, has the signs of a scam too, no pictures, cheap prices and only joined today people are mad if they buy from this person
#28
It's crazy- people see £40 for a PSP and all logic goes out the window! I wanted to sell here, so I made the effort to post good pics, describe the items accurately, and respond to messages in the thread as soon as I could. Result- three items sold and three good feedbacks in the last fortnight, the beginning of being a trusted seller here. I'd always shy away from someone who, when asked to post pics, either ignores the request or says 'its too hard'!
There also seem to be a few culprits who post loads of 'wanted' ads, get decent offers, and don't reply (or bloody buy anything!) time and time again. My experiences so far- both from people i've sold to and people i've chatted about selling to in threads- has been largely positive.

Have you reported your suspicions to one of the Mods ?? May stop someone losing some money and if the sellers legit then no harm is done :)

take care :)
