So you left feedback, despite not trading with them?
i thought it works on trust...so you rep honestly

BAN

Contact Admin so they know
#2
Well, the reason I done this was because I saw Admin had 1 feedback, so I took a look...I then saw the button, leave feedback, I thought I wonder if it will work and it did! I was going to leave feedback for another mod, but I decided to do it against a normal user, nightswimmer, and I was able to again, which would probably mean anyone can have feedbak left for them if they have a thread in FS/FT....

I created a post in feedback to bring it to Admins attention!

Hit the contact us at the bottom or send PM to a Mod before this whole thing gets abused + to tell them who you repped

well dont think it has till now, but know what you mean, everytime you post within a thread in fs board then anyone can then leave you feedback for that thread (think thats how it works)
[admin]#10
So how should it work? We're not like ebay so we don't know if someone has traded or not.

What if people abuse it? Now its in every post its more open than ever surely?

i have no idea how things like this work, and of yet have not come across any abuse of it, apart from one night an angry ex member (i think) left some real nasty feedback on about 20 guys, but was dealt with pretty quick

So, how do we know if all feedback is genuine?

What if only the OP can give feedback to the buyer once sale is complete, once done the buyer can then leave feedback to the seller...if that makes sense...

Agreed....if anyone can leave it surely its just lost its integrity?
#15
You could set it so that it asks for both parties to leave feedback within a set period before it appears, that way if somebody is trying to leave a fake feedback the other party could inform admin before the time it appears live.
Just a thought.

This sounds like a good idea!

In that case, the buyer would leave feedback for the seller first. Fairly simple, it'd just give the OP full control.

Doesn't allow for instances when the OP has abused or broken forum rules, and the other person wants to leave feedback to that effect, unless I'm reading this wrong ?

Also one step away from feedback blackmail IMO.

If the OP breaks the rules then the feedback should be withdrawn as a result...same as with buyers...
#23
Just a thought but this thread is giving people the idea to abuse it.

Think I might be getting confused here Birdy ?

I thought you were advocating that nobody can leave feedback UNTIL the OP has ?

Ah, I see! Yea, thats what I meant...if this is the case, then this is where the mods can overide this feature and allow the buyer to leave feedback. Perhaps the mods can make a visible note for other potential buyers to see instead of the original buyer leaving something?
#26
If you are suspicious of a feedback, i.e. you haven't seen the user before you can click on the feedbacked threads to check them out. If something looks fishy (like two unknowns trading with each other a few times, gushing feedback on the trade) just avoid/report.

i think the mods aready struggle with the amount of reports they get from everything else, and as already said the mods do not interfere that board other than for breaking of rules, so are you suggesting feedback now has to be left

An extra job for Col then :) Plus he would only have to intervene if there were problems...
#33
Feedback should be helpful, but not defining. The buyer/seller should always follow the guidlines anyways...

I think it would be pretty easy to spot false feedback anyways, well, significant false feedback

and the proof for the mods to make a decision lies where, again open to abuse by either the seller or buyer

So Admin...what are your thoughts on this?
#38
Well the feedback system and the new link deffinatly needs a look at, as it seems some are allready abusing the system.

For example, if you take a look at my feedback, it seems I have been given negative feedback by someone I have never traded with for some unknown reason, the user is jakenjo who left me neg feedback with a comment of 'tool', a user that has a high post count as well as good rep, so for someone like that to be abusing the system isnt amusing.
