When will these rules be enforced as the amount of thread spoiling going on is getting stupid in there now and should really be clamped down on. Any plans to do so??

My posts in the FS thread are removed and I don't 'thread spoil'.:-( At least I don't think I do. :whistling:

edit,
Anyway, you can report any 'thread spoling' you see. http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/images/custom_buttons/report.gif

I wasn't on about yours Steve, they are helpful and constuctive.

I'm on about the ones that just post "this is poo" or make stupid offers or rant that they can buy cheaper on eBay or just generally harass someone for what they choose to ask for. It has always been bad, but lately it is just mad and i think if bans are enforced (even for a limited time frame to teach them a lesson) then it might clean up the forum a bit.

edit - I do report them but they just come back and post the same rubbish again. :-(

Are you talking about the Wii thread:-
http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76388
I've seen that earlier, some of the posts are well out of order. I would have reported them myself, but my 'reports' get ignored.
[mod]#4
That's just one of them, along with canvas pictures thread and several others. :-(

Please use the report button where you see thread spoiling :) Thanks.

I'd say I probably "thread spoil" to.

I try to give helpful advice (Like you need to use your own pics, etc.)

I'll leave it to the mods now. :)

(1) Please only post in a thread if you are interested in engaging in the sale/trade listed. Anything else will be considered thread spoiling and will be deleted.

That means If I don't intend to buy then don't comment on threads :)

Not applicable if a mod hasn't had chance to post yet and you're pointing out that a price needs to be stated or pics as that is just helpful and not spoiling.

Its also after a mod has posted the disclaimer as a few people tend to ignore the image bit.

My for sale has blatant thread spoiling, yet nobody removed it. I must be unlucky
#12
^ did you report the posts though?
#13
I have to admit that the mods have been really good when people have been spoiling my threads,

On several occasions the mods have deleted spoiling for me...

i have to agree tho, if the mods arent on and there is spoiling in the thread other people turn away when they know they can get it cheaper elsewhere
#14
Ive no complaints if they can get it cheaper elsewhere...

Didnt report it no, I just assumed that it would happen, it seemed to whenever I posted on that forum

Exactly, it's rampant now and more often than not it's the same people doing it. I report it but i also understand the mods are busy and can't get round to everything.

Just a shame that it sometimes just gets deleted and they're free to do it time and time again. :x

Sy I completely agree with you, someone was trying to spoil my vista fs thread the other day, I reported it and the post was removed.
#17
As it is impossible for mods to read every single post ever made, your clicking the report button is invaluable to us. As you guys have hundreds of eyes to see everything that is going on, a few seconds to report things is appreciated.

If you feel a certain member is persistently spoiling, please state this in the report, and we will look deeper into it. At the minute, if a reported post comes through, we would just have a quick glance at that one post, and remove if necessary. But as per the thread rules, perstistant thread spoiling can lead to a temporary ban from the forums altogether.

@ Dino - every single post you report is checked, probably by every single mod, none are ignored. We receive all reported posts by email, but whether something is done about them is another matter.

Hi Emma,
Can i just ask, please. (I'm going to anyway:roll: ) When someone reports a post, Do all 7 Mods receive that report, even if they are not logged on to HUKD at the time?
#19
Take this thread for example : http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?p=678772#post678772

He/She is selling a VW Golf, One person has already commented "I will be really surprised to see this go at even half the asking price. wish you the best of luck in your sale"

Thats just plain thread spoiling and clearly no interest in the car otherwise a genuine offer would be made.

Now i've stuck what I think is a positive reply "VW's always hold there value pretty well, Especially the Golf GTI's."

Thats true, Anyone who knows a little about cars will know Vw Golf GTI's are popular and retain there value.

Yes, we all get it to our registered email addy. Even if we are not there at the time to deal with it, we can review them later, but someone has usually dealt with it by that time.

As above my post has been deleted (And it was positive anyway.)

I would've deleted it if I thought it was going to cause offense!
