i think if a member gets a certain ammount of (legit) negs then a ban from trading should be put in place to help protect the community at the end of the day it will benifit all

Members don't have to be banned in order for them to be unable to access the FS forum. There are a few ongoing trade disputes currently where banning the member involved would only create more problems. We do, however, regularly restrict access to the FS Forum for any member who we feel is high risk, traderlike or involved in multiple disputes.

do you have in place the ability to stop members from posting items for sale or is it more a case of telling them they are not allowed

We can restrict their access altogether, ie leaving them able to use the PM function (so their dispute partners can get in touch) and they can speak out in misc threads referencing their dispute. They cannot access the FS forum at all though.

which doesnt really help show others the problems, threads in misc about disputes are usually locked, or removed, so again leaves very little of a record for others to see

although this comes down to the person having the problems, they tend to not care about other buyers/sellers once they have solved their own problems, as we see alot in misc when members post they are being scammed etc,etc and yet havent left any feedback to warn others

That's what feedback is for though. Members still need to be able to cover themselves, too often members rush into trades with new members without following the guidelines. We can only advise on what to do, point out the rules where needed and remove access if appropriate. The onus is completely on members to look after themselves.

Surely thats what the feedback is for? If someone has 3 or 4 negs for not sending item, you would have to be pretty slow on the uptake not to request item before payment.......
