Not everybody has a digital camera & if the goods are new I think that it is accepable. I must agree with second hand items though!!

how can you prove they are new without pictures?
whats to stop you just saying they are new and in great condition when its in rubbish condition?

Pictures help people make their minds up too. and help to make sure that person has the item in their possession.

Whats to stop someone posting a picture from google images - or from one of their mates?

Get them to pose beside the item holding their passport, drivers licence, utility bills and birth certificate.
Should do the trick.

Mods now often lock threads if they are suspicous about the lack of a picture on a thread until one is provided now.

I personally always provide a pic although never bother with my username......if people believe i'm fabricating the pic then that's down to them.

I had a thread locked because of no pic,i don't see the problem though,i said i'd post the item to the buyer first so the only person to lose out would have been me my camera is broken and i cant get pics off my phone,i posted a thread about it as it wont connect with the usb.

so if the seller is prepared to post first i dont see the big deal,my item was new and i posted an ebay number of the exact same item,i still sold them on here, just cant do feedback though.

I think the moderators made a mistake locking your thread, as it's not mandatory to post pictures, especially since you clearly stated you would post first.

Did you report your thread to ask them to reconsider?

no i didnt report it,if i did and they reconsidered would the lady who bought them be able to leave feedback or is it too late ?

Thanks for your post. If it was concerning this thread :

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/363224/henleys-ladies-sunglasses-brand-new/

I temporarliy locked your thread until pictures could be provided & also explained how you could contact us via the report button.

Regarding comments on photos not being mandatory, the rule was amended a few months ago :

(5) Please Post Images (click for details) including a piece of paper with your user name and date next to the actual items for sale. This helps your sale or trade by showing the condition, establishing validity and also that you have the items in your possession. If you post an eBay image or are unable to post any images, we may pull the listing immediately to request further information.

& of course before we take any action on any thread we will review the personal circumstances pertaining to that thread, & will advise on an appropriate course of action for the OP - in this case directing them to the Report button - either if they have a problem with uploading the pics, or to let us know once they are ready. In a case like this, the next course of action is with the OP to contact us with the relevant information as advised though.

The thread in question has not been expired & is still just awaiting the feedback from the OP.

NB - there is no acceptance of the sale posted in the thread - if it is the one linked above, how was the sale agreed ? Please use the Report button http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/images/custom_buttons/report.gif on that thread to provide an update thanks.

Sigma, you asked on the thread to contact you when i'd got pictures but i'm unable to do so otherwise i would have.

The thread was locked so i couldn't reply, the lady in the first post of that thread bought them and received them from me so i'm not sure what else i can do.

dealzonwheelz, do you see the red triangle http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/images/custom_buttons/report.gif beside your avatar ? That 's the Report button & you can use it to send a message to all the online MODS even on a locked thread & it can be used even if the member is suspended. Just click on the triangle beside your name on the relevant thread & provide the information that way so we can review it - it's a confidential way of getting in touch with us directly about any issues regarding a specific thread & it will automatically provide us with the thread link etc, thanks

If you had contacted us to explain that, then we could review the thread lock. But as requested on one of my earlier posts:
NB - there is no acceptance of the sale posted in the thread - if it is the one linked above, how was the sale agreed ? Please use the Report button http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/images/custom_buttons/report.gif on that thread to provide an update thanks.

As there is no sale agreed in the thread - selling the item off thread by PM etc would actually be a rule breach. We need you to clarify that issue via the report button rather than discussing it in this forum thanks.
would the lady who bought them be able to leave feedback
