is not simply clicking on page 1 just the same? : ) as it takes you to the deal
[admin]#2
I've never really thought about it. It's a pretty good point I guess. What about if the first post hung over all the comments? (i.e. it was on every comment page)

Use the go to 'First page' button.

That would make more pages.
#6
or 'go to last' - for those, like me, that work backwards!!

Or change the number of posts per page (still doesn't work on some threads!)

No I mean it would be paged like now but that initial deal post would be on each page of the thread. Don't know...just thinking out loud.

Let's carry on thinking aloud.
If page 1 holds, say 20 posts including the OP, then page 2 holds 20 new posts then putting the OP in page 2, it would hold only 19 posts. 1 post would be carried over.

No, as I said it could hang on top. It wouldn't be part of the thread, it would appear before the posts of each thread.

Good idea  , I like forums that do that. Also means you can recap the original post without changing pages, much less jumping back and forth....

No, I want to go to the site so that I can buy the product or look at it in more detail on the actual site. Currently I have to scroll up (or down) click on "First", and then click on "Go to Deal" button.

I want to avoid having to go back to the first page to jump to the product site.

Now having reviewed the site and product I want to add a comment - I now have to click "last" to get to the comment I want to quote in my reply. So I have had to jump forward to read the comments, jump back to click the link to the product, and click forward to add my reply while quoting a previous comment.

I know it isn't a big deal, but I often find myself thinking, why do I have to go backwards and forwards all the time...

That's a good idea admin, I like it as well. Even if it wasn't the whole deal frozen at the top, but even just the title, a piccy and the goto deal button perhaps, like a small banner, would that be possible?

For example:

That looks exactly what I need!

Well it would probably take admin a bit longer to implement than it took me to throw together in photoshop  but it's a nice idea.

Ok I'll put this on the list to do either as in summary form or in initial deal form. I can't promise anything before March probably though as there is a bigger list we're working through on the site update, but I will try to work this into that.
