Ok, this may not be the most thought out idea i've ever had and i expect to be shot down but i've noticed on here a few *deals* that to be blunt are rubbish and yet, are voted so hot my fingers burn.
I thought that *heat* is added not just by folks' clicking on hot or warm but am i right in saying the amount of people (and i would guess their rep) affects the heat too when they click on the thread too?
Well, if a deal is hot this will increase the heat of the deal a more acceptable and perhaps, gradual way since the interest generated will increase the heat.
There are deals, for example, a sale that has been announced, some of the 24 hour game style deals that when announced, folks get really excited and when it's happens, they're as cold as ice. This is NOT a dig at the OP of the thread, but the deals themselves can suck like a dyson.
Folks find deals where the price is cheap and for some reason or another, it turns out to be a mis-price and folks end up disappointed in the main, with the rest of the 32 pages of the thread, folks bickering.
So, could we delay folk's being able to add heat until they actually get summat tangible, say, a week or so.
It is not perfect and is an idea to be discussed and perhaps throw away, just that some deals get more heat than they deserve i'd say.
I shall now take cover as the flaming begins..... :p
