If the average deal temperature for all your deals is more than 200 degrees for 30 days, you will earn the heatwave badge. This is a tough badge to get... many deals don't last this long. Good luck!
In what year will that be. ;)

This is a bad thing. As it discourages people from posting deals. If it's given it should stick. It will be good for the website if that happens.
Everyone loves a nice shiny badge,"though not me it seems
Any particular reason as to why it discourages users from posting ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm ill will get back to you about that one.

I suppose it discourages me from posting a deal for 30 days :p
That period is still an improvement on the average time between listed deals during your membership.
How about spelling? ;)

I love posting deals. I have won and lost my Heatwave badge about 2 or 3 times. I love my Heatwave badge as it means I have done some good work and it sets me apart from others. And I hate losing it. So I won't post again until I am almost 100% sure that Hotukdealers will lap up a deal. Some borderline deals - which I predict would get something like 85% - like Syndicate on PC boxed for £20 by Coolshop (the cheapest boxed copy of the game) won't get posted by me. I'll stick my borderline deals in posting comments and replies rather than risk it.
If you want to encourage people to post more deals then the simple way is to expire the Heatwave badge if a 200 degree score isn't achieved on average continually after the most immediate 30 day period has passed. Or invent a new badge like "Home Run" or "Fireball" or "I'm on Fire" (nowt to do with Kasabian) for the perpetually hot posters.

You realise no one but you actually looks at the badges? I only glanced over because I saw the title to this thread.
