Heatwave
If the average deal temperature for all your deals is more than 200 degrees for 30 days, you will earn the heatwave badge. This is a tough badge to get... many deals don't last this long. Good luck!

yep-as gary says-I had the badge for about a week-its very hard to keep it cos obviously you constantly need to be posting deals above 200 to always be within the 30 day period. So you can get the badge and it then goes away very quickly

Sorry, still not getting it.
My 2 most recent deals were 5 days and 10 days ago and reached 176 and 414 degrees respectively.
My previous deal prior to that was 2 months ago.
So, in the last 30 days I have posted 2 deals totalling 590 degrees - but my heatwave is no more.

I think there is a bug where it counts across all your thread that you have started!
#6
Or maybe becuase one of your deals is expired?

So by posting a non-deal thread, oh! like this one! I've killed my heatwave badge.....

But someone ADVISED me in no uncertain terms that if you find out that the price has changed you should expire the deal .....

Correct, you should.

Right, I get it now, thanks ...
To keep your heatwave badge you need to post a scorchio of a deal which doesn't expire for at least a month ..... and possibly avoid asking silly questions like this one ....

Thanks folks.

I have changed it so only deals, vouchers, freebies, and competitions will apply to your heatwave badge, you should regain your heatwave badge tonight.
#12
If the average deal temperature for all your deals

Erm, should it not just be deals?
#13
We often use "deal" to refer to a group of threads (deals, vouchers, freebies, and competitions), pretty much the threads that have a temperature, we might want to revise the wording there a bit.

I noticed it had come back and so looked back at this, Thanks

Yes, it is the first time I've received the badge too (as I think some of the competitions I have listed previously were dragging down my average).

Now, about the "Like" notifications... are you any nearer to resolving that issue?

We are still working on that one, some things are more straightforward to fix then other things. Thanks for bringing it up again though, so things don't fall through the cracks.

Just to mention that, although vouchers are often used by those posting deals to get very high temps, the voucher threads themselves don't gain much in the way of heat.

Have a look at the 'top of the day' and you will see what I mean!

So members posting stonkingly good vouchers will be very unlikely to get the heatwave badge whilst those posting deals that use those very same vouchers will get the heatwave badges.

Perhaps vouchers should be excluded from the heatwave thing or perhaps it could be algorithmed ( or simple voucher heat is multipled by e.g. 5?) to take account of even excellent vouchers staying pretty cold (compared to deals).

Or perhaps, as gary-rip says, the badge should simply be for deal deals.

deals only i think still.

Again, no disrespect intended, but maybe if you or your colleagues updated the feedback threads more regularly than you are (or are not doing), then we would know some of the issues are being progressed.

The thread we used to have with updates from juliet_bravo on progress with issues was informative for the couple of weeks it was used.

Good point though, chesso.

Perhaps if some members posting deals regularly based on the use of voucher codes could add a note in the thread description to say something like "Don't forget to add heat to the voucher thread... thanks, [member who created the voucher thread]" then more people would be aware of this oversight.
