How does this site work?

Hi, guys! I've sent an e-mail to the administrator of the HUKD but I guess I would post a question here anyway.

I was thinking of how the HUKD was working on the inside - are you guys using a free engine or did you have to create the webpage (and the deal engine) from scratch?

I remember there *was* a mention of the site engine somewhere here but I can't seem to find it anywhere anymore. Any help appreciated!

From a guess, they're on a few affiliate networks. When someone post's a deal, they either add the affiliate manually, or its done from triggers say amazon or something. They generate money from us being helpful.. Clever!

I believe site was created from scratch hence why it is bug-ridden

No, I'm not asking about affiliates - that is clear from the About Us page - but about the engine the site works on, and I'm not interested in setting up a rival website. ;)

And come on, seriously, even if I did, no one would use it 'cause we all love HUKD :)

We went through a variety of open source CMS but now we are running out own code.
