There are several factors which dictate the impact your vote will have, as explained by Admin below:
The voting rep is based on the temperature of deals you have submitted, the time registered, number of posts, and forum rep. The first is by far the largest and the other factors are there to balance it out and give some voting rep to people who spend their time helping others etc in the forum.

People may be voting cold at the same time as you therefore making it look like you don't have a lot of "heat to give"

That was one cold deal out of SEVERAL really hot ones that I've posted. does a cold deal really affect it that much?
Plus I'm sure my "heat" disappeared before I posted that anyway.

Thanks, but as I said I already read that and it didn't answer my question, which is what caused it to go DOWN.

That's a possibility, but it's definitely not the case as for a few weeks now every single time I click the arrows, it's only been affected by 1 degree.

your voting power can go down if you post some deals that achieve a low temperature
#6
it might be that someone else is voting at the same time or since you last refreshed the page

To be honest, does it really matter? :)

Some people get obsessed with post counts, rep points etc. trying to be higher then everyone else,. but most other people don't care:whistling:

It matters to me because I'm not sure why it's happened and that's the problem. If it's just how the site works, that's absolutely fine, but if it's happened because a moderator decided it should, then I'd at least like to know what I did wrong so I don't do it again. Is that fair enough?
