Aliens aren't allowed badges.X) - joke

Seriously, I 'm pretty certain that you should have some badges but the site is all over the place and I think that badge errors will be quite common.

Im sure I havent "earned" all my badges. I think the whole Idea of badges is juvenile and pathetic. Im sure some of the members who had "18 gazillion posts" under their avatar are feeling a bit miffed now they dont feel more important than those newbies with only a handfull. Oh the lulzX)

on the contrary, most people with large post counts were actively asking for post count to be removed. So, lulzX at your lulzX :)

I agree badges are ridiculous and all wrong too.

Yeah your probably right. Some would want to hide the amount of posts they have. I guess having 25000 posts under your avatar does make you look like you havent got a life outside hotukdeals.

What is the criteria for being a "Pioneer" ?
The description says "This badge is only awarded to members who joined HUKD in the first year. It's our way of thanking the people who helped build this community!"

I joined July 2005, the site started August 2004 - shouldnt I be a Pioneer?

Same here, I joined (and introduced a lot of friends) in March 05 - why don't I have a pioneer badge?

You're not alone - I joined in 04, but no badge for me.

Indeed, the badges are all over the place, god knows when they will be correct, although i'm surprised people care, they are a bit childish.

Newbie
Earn this badge by posting your very first thread. You are now a contributing member of the HUKD community!

Pioneer

This badge is only awarded to members who joined HUKD in the first year. It's our way of thanking the people who helped build this community!

Celebrity (3 Levels)
This badge is awarded for popularity - if your threads receive 300 comments or more, you become a HUKD Celebrity!

Hotspot
If one of your deals passes 120, you will earn the yellow level Hotspot badge. Pass 240 to earn the orange level badge. If you pass 360, you win the red badge – the hottest Hotspot badge there is!

Editor
If you're active enough on HUKD, you may find yourself earning the editor badge. Only committed members earn this badge. It entitles the member to edit the posts of other users. When you have earned this right, you'll be notified and new tools will appear in the comments and listings. Make your first edit, and you'll earn this special badge!

Chatty
This badge is awarded to members who have posted more than 100 comments. Comments are a great way to make posts more useful and help other users learn about deals.

Heatwave
If you post a deal that maintains a temperature of 200 for four weeks or more, you will earn the heatwave badge. This is a tough badge to get... many deals don't last this long. Good luck!

Judge
There are three levels of judge. You earn this badge by voting on deals. Vote 50 times to earn the yellow level, 100 times to earn the orange level, and 500 times to become a Red Hot Supreme Court Deal Judge.

Loyalty
If you log in every day for 30 days or more, you will earn the Loyalty badge. To keep this badge, you will need to continue logging in every day.

Debz, I agree that they are childish - the illustrated list comes up if you click on any badge under an avatar.

Can you only get a newbie badge if you posted your first thread after the new version of the site went up? And by thread do they mean deal or this sort of thread?
