omg u're right! the bloody cheek of them.
[admin]#3
They've been doing it for a while. Take it as a compliment hah Or think how ****** their sites are that they have to advertise off people looking for us :p What makes it more insulting is that there's several that automatically scrape the deals that members post here!

[admin]#5
They've changed that rule now MoneySavingG

I thought they had changed it in favour of the tm owner? I've got a few emails along these lines from merchants recently:

In light of Google’s change in trademark policy, please note that bidding on Phones 4u brand words is prohibited.

When promoting Phones 4u products, please do not bid on the trademarks of their competitors.

I'm with Gary, lets all click away :-D
[admin]#9
No they changed it to allow bidding on TM's whereas before you couldn't. The emails you are getting I am guessing are from affiliate networks where the merchants are saying the search affiliates cannot bid on the TM even though Google allows it now.

Yeah, if we can stop them, then lets click them!
[admin]#11
Technically that one ad is in breach of Google's policy as it has a misleading url and statement but Google is pretty poor at enforcing their policies.

Do a search for HUKD and click on each sponsored link. It costs them money and eventually they run out of links so stop appearing ;-)

Emphasis on SPONSORED right? not actual HUKD weblink.
#17
are we going to bankrupt them?

As Gary said, click on his link in post #2. If you do hit a valid link it won't cost HUKD anything as they're not sponsored. Hit the vouchercodes ones ;-)

Not 100% sure if it's per click or per IP address tbh. I have a feeling adwords works on a per click basis.

Clicked. :)

Clicked. :)

Thats what we like! :) thanks

They won't know that the clicks are coming from people here though, so all they will see is that using HUKD keywords works at bringing in traffic and do it more...
#33
ummm.... im sure they get tracking info on it tho....
#34
Exactly, and the tracking info will say that someone clicked the link from google using HUKD keywords - not that someone from HUKD clicked it just to cost them money hehe

The only way it might work is if everyone makes sure they exit straight back out of the site again, then that will show them the traffic they get from the ads have a high 'bounce rate' - but it all seems like a bit of a hassle, when it's probably better to just ignore it lol

It doesn't really matter does it. If they are aware that it is people coming from here, they can't stop us wasting their credit, if they don't know it's coming from here then it wastes their credit.

If they think it's working when it isn't, then the result is the same.

Thats a fair point. They will know the search criteria that got them the hit.
#37
ok, well lets click it loads for a few months, and then il sign up to their site and PM the mod/admin to let them know what we have been doing.

I think this is considered click fraud so not very ethical ... , Google will filter it anyway ASAIK.
#40
ethical... what about what they are doing then!

Google wont filter if they all are from different users!
