Does writing my ryanair guide count?! I'm very good with travel. Which is demonstrated in my posts regarding flights, aircraft, hotels and holidays.

Don't ask if you are young/old/good/bad enough. If you think you fit then send in the email.

Please note the bar is set pretty high on this and although you do not have to be a published pro it is the quality of writing we are looking for!

My writing style is completely different when writing professionally but I'm sure HUKD has already realised that people won't work for Ape Peanuts :whistling:

It completely depends on the money on the table if I or people I know would be interested.

I'm interested.

I would love to have one of these positions. I already work freelance for an online company and I run my own small business from home and I am constantly purchasing from the internet. It would be perfect, but I am not skilled or probabley not grammatical enough to be part of the team!

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH! It would be Uber cool though!

Good luck to whoever goes for it and more importantly, gets it!

I would be interested in this but depends on rate of pay, and if I can squeeze it in along side other commitments.

I'd be interested in this but it really depends on the money as to whether it is worth my time sending in the "application" or not.

Really admin, you need to give more information about the remuneration available.

In all fairness, companies nowadays advise on money less and less nowadays. If you are seriously interested about the job, you'll apply, and then if you get offered a position but the money isn't right, either discuss this with them or politely turn the job down. Bear in mind that as they said, it's a freelance job. This means that wages will generally be discussed per job as opposed to per hour/day/week etc. It's hard to put a price on something freelance as one job may be a simple 250 word review of a product, the next may require you to interview numerous people and write up 5,000 words.

There will be plenty of people applying for the job because they want to do it, not simply because of the money. Not advertising rates or wages is a great way to work out who wants to do the job because they think they would enjoy it and be of benefit to the company, as opposed to people purely in it for money. You wouldn't go into an interview and ask them how much they paid before they even asked any questions, just because online isn't face-to-face it doesn't mean they aren't trying to operate like a business. People commented on what kind of money was on offer within the first few posts, 'Admin' then commented further down. If they didn't answer then, they won't answer now.

If you really think that you would be good at the job, and would like to be considered for the job, then apply for it. The worst than can happen is that you turn it down because it doesn't meet your minimum wage request. If you don't want to fill out an application, which should take no more than an hour of your life when you may not like the pay offered at the end, then the job probably isn't for you

I see what you're saying. And yes, you are right that these days, unfortunatley, employers seems unwilling to disclose what sort of salary is on offer. If an employer is unwilling to disclose the salary bands, then to be honest, I'm unwilling to apply for the job. If everyone thought the same, things would be better IMO.

What if you applied for a job, thinking yes, I want £55k PA as I'm really good at what I do. You apply for a job doing what you do, where the salary isn't advertised. The company offer you a job and explain that the tarting salary is £30k. I think you'd struggling to get them to nearly double the salary no matter how good you are.

Extreme example? Yes. Possible? Entirely.

Just because someone is financially motivated, absoloutley does NOT mean that this job isn't for them, nor that any job isn't for them. It all depends on the individual and to what extent he is financially motivated. Someone earning £15k PA at present would be more inclined to apply for the job if it were paying £20k, than someone currently earning, say £30k. Even though both may be equally as financially motivated.

If you split employees into two types:

1. Those who are financially motivated
2. Those who are motivated by having done a good job

Which is worse? Neither. Both have their places IMO. I'd not want a workforce full of either type, I'd want a workforce full of BOTH types.

Also, if you are offering your workers a 15% bonus, does type one not therefore become type two by default?

It's quite a few years since I studied business, but some of the motivation theories make for good reading if you are so inclined. As do the menagerial practices too...

the tarting salary is £30k

Is this the salary conditional on providing high quality bakery products, or the salary specifically reserved for girls from Essex? I can say that becaue I'm from Essex. Although not a girl. So perhaps I can't? Ah, who cares?

I don't know if anyone was into reading magazines about the internet 8 years ago, but if you did, you may well remember an esteemed publication by the name of Internet Monthly. If you were, and if you do, I doubt very much that you will remember a column called Gift Of the Gab - written by yours truly complete with an ugly photo !!

Might I also add that I have been sad enough to keep every one that had my column in it! lol
