All the rest of the text is fine - in the replies. It's only the OP!!

Isn't it affecting you?
banned#5
To be honest, I cant see any difference

might just be me though?
[admin]#6
The "tags" are smaller text but rest isn't?
#7
I would say that if the text in reply was a 10 then the OP text - all of it is a 6/7. It's OK when you scroll down in 'reply mode' though.
#8
Yeah, this has happened to me as well. The deal description text in both the listing and deal threads has shrunken. As it won't change when you change the text size I suspect somebody's been fiddling with the website code and changed text sized from points to pixels (pt to px), that usually messy things up like this. (curse the W3C for ever including the option in the first place)

Hi Chesso.. Looks like it's just you.. or others that haven't commented!
Mines OK, but I can see from your screen grab that you're not seeing things. Your OP is indeed smaller font than replies...Very strange.. how long has it been like that?

Edit..So it's not just you!!

Hi Rocky. Since I got on at about 10, I think!! Those keen eyes of yours are very useful!! I was beginning to wonder.

Edit - oh good it's not just me!!

Second edit - hope it's OK tomorrow. I must to bed!!

Nope same for me - FF3.
Changing the font size makes the rest of the interweb too big.

Looks like the CSS has gone wrong:
The culprit tag: style="font-size: 12px;". Looks a lot better with it gone
Plus could do with some padding on the right side of the OP - 150px seems right.
#12
Night! Interesting to see that even on my PC, where the OP is OK, that changing the font size does not alter the OP font size, but changes all the rest..
It's as though the OP is an image. ????
#13
its pretty damn small for me too. Should be ok though. Not really sure why the change has been made :S

Maxthon and Opera on windows 2000, both are showing it.

I've got text set to 120dpi (large text). How about everyone else?

Seven I think

Go to the menu bar
click on view
click on text size
you should see about 5 options, have a play with them and see if it makes a difference :)

The latest tiny font is very difficult to read.
It's not just me, somehow is it?
How long will this last?
At my age it is probably very bad for my back and my eyes to have to peer so closely to the monitor to see what is there

Which font size are you seeing chesso ? The bottom one ??
#25
Where is the menu bar??
The second one is about it ( maybe a tad larger than what I'm seeing in the OP), but when I am typing in the 'submit reply' box and scroll down from there, your second one is the same size as the rest of the replies and your first one is bigger and bolder than the replies.

OK - found the menu bar. The text size options can change the reply text size but not the OP - dinky on 'largest'!!
#26
Peculiar, I don't understand, I'm on the same IE7 and mine is fine,

I think it's one for Developer to look into chesso, me stumped.

Back to the drizzle and the cuttings I guess :)

Oh, that's a shame. Thanks for trying.:thumbsup:

I expect that Developer will be unable to sleep until this problem is solved.
Here's the Hendrix link to beat the drowsiness!!

The first post and the rest are the same on my screen, that's Opera on Vista and IE6 on Win2k.

This new text is much harder to read than the old.

It's also extended to the heading titles and tabs now so everything is eyewateringly small.

We haven't been able to replicate your problem chesso and as you can see others with the same setup don't have it. Until we can figure out how to cause it we can't figure out how to fix it....

Oh dear.
Is there anything that I can do, re trying out new something-or-others, in a helpful sort of way?
Even in my computer illiteracy, it doesn't make any sense to me that the OP text won't respond to anything, like altering text size.
#37
Chesso I'm just going to add a bit of text to your op.

Don't know why but just to see if it the same size really.

All information to add to the plot!!

Anybody else use firefox and greasemonkey extension - here's a little script to try. Does this make any difference? (save as hukd_op_font_size.user.js and drag onto browser window)

// --------------------------------------------------------------------
//
// This is a Greasemonkey user script.
//
// To install, you need Greasemonkey: http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/
// Then restart Firefox and revisit this script.
// Under Tools, there will be a new menu item to "Install User Script".
// Accept the default configuration and install.
//
// To uninstall, go to Tools/Manage User Scripts,
// select "Hello World", and click Uninstall.
//
// --------------------------------------------------------------------
//
// ==UserScript==
// @name HUKD OP Font Size
// @description remove font size styling for the OP on hukd
// @include http://www.hotukdeals.com/*/*/*
// ==/UserScript==

var div= document.getElementsByTagName('div');

for (i=0; i
if(div[i].className == 'deals_body') {

div[i].getElementsByTagName('p')[0].style.fontSize = '100%';

}

}
