Sassie is my guess:)

I think me and Sassie report quite alot of the same thing, and same users...users who aren't banned from using the FS boards but should be etc...

I really believed a harsh crackdown on the FS boards would make it a better place, i also believed reminders would help members realise that the forum rules where there for everyone to follow, not just the scammers, i used to post alot in the threads, and to be fair most where never rude, they never really took notice but where never rude, i have now realised that nothing will change that board, far too many money grabbing, selfish people on it, the only thing alot care about is there sale and will do what they can to get their couple of quid, i also realised as it wasnt an across the board rule for all, it was only a guideline, that members where being treated differently (yes my opinion) and felt i was contributing to this unfairness, i also felt that reports where not being dealt with as they should be, as i have said before when threads are reported on the FS board these should be attended to ASAP but they arent, i have reported threads that have not been dealt with for hours, and some have never been even, days, weeks later, some never full stop, even though half of the team are online (great idea there gary rip) so no longer have anything to do with the for sale board

So to all those that took offence at my posts, to all those that have sent a rude pm, i did what i thought would help the FS board become a more even playing field, but i suppose to alot that isnt what they want

wow... any excuse to have a rant...

sassie,

I think it's a shame, but understandable that you have decided to stop helping out on that board.
Something that is free is never going to live up to your idealogical standards. It's a free an easy service that Admin has given to the site.

It is my understanding that all reports are looked at, just because the outcome isn't seen, or not to your liking, it doesn't mean nothing has been done.
Some of the reports involve knowing a lot more about the comings and goings of certain trades and members with a trail that is over a few threads.

In the grand scale of things, I can see why the mods don't spend an overly wasteful amount of time unravelling it(buyer beware).

Like I said last week, humans will always deal with things differently, and the same person will deal with the same situation differently on a different day.

I am sure that you have not reported members that you believe have made an honest mistake. Were you being unfair, or did you use your discretion?

I've been reporting lots of duplicate deals in the past week or so by hitting the Red Triangle. Seems to be the best way to get rid of them, and they're generally actioned quickly. :)
#8
I have found in the majority on cases that if i hit the report button it is dealt with very quickly

I would be too scared to ever try to sell anything on hukd's, it seems to be a minefield from what i have read around the site. :?

I feel the same - just as some people feel afraid to post deals, I'd feel like I'd need to put on protective clothing before going into FS/T. :?

It is a shame though, i'm sure an awful lot of people feel the same. :?

If you follow the guidelines, you will be fine. the problem is that members fall over themselves to grab a bargain, when it goes tits up, they ask "What do I do now"?

When you suggest that they call the 'Would-be-scammer' on the phone, they respond "It was only £30/£40/£50, so did not think it necessary to use my common sense :|.

The amount of times i've asked a pertinent question, and it goes unanswered is shocking.
It doesn't stop buyers from 'paypalling' their money in the mistaken confidence that Paypal care.

No one has been scammed that has followed the forum guidelines and rules. :)

I still wouldn't sell on here or buy for that matter, it would feel like being in an arena with a pride of man/women hungry lions. :?

Today, from 7am until 5.30pm it was 45. :)
#16
I think today was quite a quiet day for reports though... some days, they seem to never stop :-D
#17
wow, i haven't had to report anyone yet - although i also don't use the FS/T section where most of the reporting happens apparently
#18
Ducky, out of the 45 reported yesterday, how many were legit or worthwile reports just out of interest? ie, did every single one need reporting or did half of them mean nothing and the reporter was over reacting as such ?? (hope that makes sense) :?

I wouldn't be exactly sure as various moderators dealt with them. I'd say around 90% are genuine and need action, although it's often as simple as removing a duplicate etc... :)

I'm quite disappointed at 45. Bet it was a lot more last week during the ebay email period
