Are you hitting the "Post Reply" button at the bottom of the thread?
#2
This should be in feedback rather than misc

Obvious question but what are you posting links to?

This is standard, the mods will check out any links from brand new accounts.

Cheers guys. What happens, will my posts appear on the site later after they have been checked?

In that case you should be fine soon enough, sassie/emasu are spot on.

Okay thanks guys, just one more question just been having a read through the rules and am slightly unsure about this repping business.

Reputation is a form of reward you can give to other members if they've helped you in any way. Common sense is that it has to be earned.
Abuse of the reputation system might result in you losing any you already have and in the worst case may result in a ban.

What is the correct rep etiquette? Do I rep everyone in my thread for helping or just the first person. Is my rep I can give limited to a certain amount each day or anything like that?

i don't think so...................but like i say if it's already posted it will be deleted.

Hi starsparkle, it wasn't a dupe that was getting deleted, just my posts when I tried to link a website to answer someones question like where to find a batman suit. Apparently it's cos I'm new. :-D

Just had a quick glance at your post. We tend to check deals that are posted by new members, but not individual posts. I've just had a quick look at your threads & the Zurich link one is there as well >

So I'm not sure if the problem is with how you are viewing/searching for posts maybe ?

The links in my signature should take you to all the main help threads for help & advice

It's good to see a new member reading the rules through on their 1st day.
If there is something else that you don't understand other than the Rep system, just "Holler". :|

Reputation
You click on the button underneath somebody's username if you find their post helpful. You are encouraged to spread it around as much as you like. When you click on the button you can leave positive rep (for helpful deals and things which have helped). You can also leave a comment. Reputation is anonymous; however the recipient of the reputation will be able to see the comment and which post was made.
You can view your reputation points and comments people have left for you >> HERE <<, the page can also be accessed by clicking on "Control Panel" near the top right of the forum. The most recent 10 comments are available for view, and the total points are in the top right of the rep area.
What the different coloured boxes mean:
Orange lights in your rep mean that you have received positive reputation from someone with a positive reputation score. This will have increased your points.
Grey lights are also positive rep, but have been given by someone with no reputation, and therefore does not have the ability to affect your reputation score. This will have had no effect on your points.
When you give out rep, it is not a set amount. The more you have, the more you give with a single click.

You can give out 10 reps in 24 hours but you can't give it to the same person again and again - you have to 'spead it around'. Give it to who you want for whatever you want, but always keep it positive. Negative remarks can be reported to mods and are definitely frowned on.When you give rep, it's usual but not compulsory to give your 'name' because it's not done automatically.
Demo under way!!
