feedback mate - Should be there

Also, Mods say you cant sell 3 different mobiles as you exceed the bulk selling rule. But you can sell 3 different dvd movies. Someone listed their old mobile phones to help raise money to pay their bills. But mods locked and closed thread for bulk when it was not. Yet i see like 29 different dvd's for sale.

^^^^^ Feedback.

I know you wanna vote but it's still for the moderatos.

And the non-profiteering rule is there for a reason... I like the concept behind it and the reason it's there.

Sorry hun xxx I have to disagree with you this time :)
#5
it wont make a blind bit of difference.
dont even bother the mods have their little cartel to keep up "safe" in our own little HUKD world to stop us paying x amount for something that we want... because hey.. we dont know whats best for ourselves.

FS/FT rules will never change. we have proposed some very amicable changes that makes everyone a winner and still jack all. FS/FT rules wll gradually allow noothing to be sold.

maybe if the mods actually accepted the rules wanted by 90% of the community they may actually stop being so inoconsistant as they wont need to intervene.
#6
Brilliant idea ,Then when something comes up for sale one person with a healthy bank balance will buy all the remaining stock and sell them on here at a profit. IF this happened people will just stop posting deals,
#7
the forsale area isnt an area for people to do business
its an area for people to sell their unwanted 2nd hand goods
why should people be able to sell something thyeve just bought at a misprice to try and make money
take your business elsewhere

What is the concept? because i really dont get it.
if its because X will buy all of product Y to sell on in FS/FT for Z more than they paid for it. thus stopping others from getting the deal beacuse of this.... that would be bull.

but i cant honestly think what else it could be
#9
Sorry, as long as selling below rrp and the buyer is getting it cheaper than they can elsewhere, it shouldn't matter how much the seller paid for it.

And as for asking for a reciept to prove it wasnt bought off amazon cheap, is down right rude, mods need to get a grip and stop being jealous that they didnt pick up sonething cheap, and I'm shocked that they would be mso pathetic to even be willng to enforce such a farce rule!
#10
i have no problem with profiteering, i actually encourage it
but what i dont like is when the community of hukd help get u that deal and then u decide to go and make a profit off them? LOL
by all means go to avforums, ebay or wherever else and make the profit just seems a little cheeky relisting it on the site that got you it

I obviously welcome all views. I never seen the "feedback post", I have read it now, but it is a hot topic of discussion, and one which I think should be adressed. We all LOVE a bargain, that's why we're here, but if somone was at work, or never had internet access on a certain day, and a good deal was posted that they missed, I don't see the problem in letting a buyer of "said item" be able to sell it here cheaper than what they would need to buy it for elsewhere. It's a win win situation.
I would even be up for 5% of the sale price going to charity, one that we could vote on monthly, as it would be better than people doing it anyway, and having to give evilbay and naypal more money.

thats a silly point of view.

There have been plenty of occasions ive wanted such and such a product but couldnt get it in my area and i would have been more than happy to pay £5-10 more that the price it was selling at to get it, however i couldnt because of the stupid rules.

I AM NOT INCAPABLE OF MAKING DECISIONS OF HOW MUCH I THINK IS REASONABLE TO SPEND ON AN ITEM... Why do the rules assume this?
[admin]#13
I don't think it's the spirit of HUKD and definitely not the fs/ft board to buy a deal only to make profit of other members.

It's a grey issue when it comes to profiteering on deals through ebay etc as that's not within our community and in any case there's no way to enforce it. But on HUKD itself it seems really silly that a member would snap up a deal only to turn around and make money off another member.

The fs/ft section isn't there for people to make money. It's there to trade/sell/buy within the HUKD community.

Its not in the spirit but as long as its selling bellow RRP or current best price the buyer is still getting a deal they would not otherwise have got!

that would only work if the rule wasnt there: NO profiteering
unfortunatly the rule is there so it doesnt matter if the other person is still willing to pay more

I know the rule is there.
But it is a stupid rule, think about it the only people losing out are the buyers WHO ACTUALLY WANT THE ITEM. The FS/FT is pretty ruthless and people in general wont pay more than a fair price, hense my comments several times that it almost self moderates.

Basically the rule says that "No you Mr/Mrs/Ms Buyer cannot spend x amount of your hard earned cash on something that you want from Person Y because the nanny state rules say that because of reason Z this is unreasonable"
[admin]#20
But a buyer who just wants an item period can go on ebay or somewhere. It's not like they don't have other options outside of the HUKD community to buy.

its not about the people losing out its about the profiteerers profiteering
thats why the rules are there
the fs/ft is not a place to do business
#22
I can see why the rule is there, but I just feel it should be at buyer and seller's discretion...Like the mobile phone comment. I can sell X amount of something, but not XX amount of something else.
Also, I have even seen a problem with people selling there "upgrade mobile phones".
It all reverts back to if the buyer is getting a deal from the seller, and are both happy, I don't see the problem.
The, "someone with money buying everything and selling it for profit" comment, you mean like supermarkets? :whistling:
I hear you, but a lot of websites only allow you to buy 4 or 5 of anything at the one time, or on the one account, and people who have money to be buying 10 or 20 Dell computer deals at 500 quid a pop, are hardly going to be sitting on hukd all day trying to make 30 quid, if you see what I'm saying...

FS/FT just doesnt operate like that and it wouldnt if the rule was removed or modified.
In alot of cases it stops people selling on things that they just dont want, i.e they recieved as part of a bundle, like a game they dont want etc.. what is so wrong with that?

According to the profiteering rule you are not allowed to sell unwanted birthday gifts or anything such as that either. ITS STUPID.

The profiteerers profiteering, you mean like the owners of this website getting paid everytime you click through to a deal?
As said by Jetpac, myself and others, if the buyer is still getting a good deal, and getting something CHEAPER than they can get it elsewhere, is that not in the "spirit" of the site..? So what if the seller got it cheaper, he is still passing on a "deal", and a reduced saving, that you are willing to pay if it is fair to you, by selling it CHEAPER than you can buy it for any where else.

its just a waste of time. The people who make up these rules for the fs/ft are the same soprt of people who make up the Health and safety rules. Someof them useful and should be there, most of them just stupid and pointless assuming that people have no common sense, individual thought or concern for themselfs and instead are living vegetables.

its their business though
you dont have to click
they also pay staff have overheads
im all for having the fs/ft rules changed because there are some silly rules out there and it does have to be made simpler and reasonable
but one of the rules i do believe in is not to sell at inflated prices in what you actually paid for the item
it may also (probably not)stop the people buying more than they need of a deal
people who buy so many really really take the pea

In the opinion of the minority.
The cast majority who activly use FS/FT want a change in the rules however despite well thought out and intelligent rule changes that move away from the draconian whilst not allowing a free for all proposed by various members, the mods just bury their heads in the sand. continue to be quite frankly RIDICULOUSLY inconsiistant with what is allowed and what isnt, who can sell what and who cant etc etc.

and the only thing i can think of im sorry to say is a power trip!

this site is a business. a very lucrative one at that. without people using it it couldnt exist as it does you dont pay for it par say, but without people it couldnt exist. so dont pull that crap.
#36
I agree but its very difficult to allow exceptions to rules as it would open floodgates to other profiteers and cause unfair behaviour. imagine this rule...."no profiteering (exceptions are xbox deals from amazon") thats not right. the alternative is to remove the rule, which would be silly, this is why nothing will be done.

Admin doesn't need to provide a FT/FS forum - they make no money from it and probably have to pay a mod to keep an eye on it on almost a full-time basis. I presume Admin provides that forum (and Misc) to give a sense of community........

Would you rip-off a friend or neighbour? Maybe a compromise would be to provide a bit of leeway in the price say 5% to 10% markup ............

that people only really use as part of using the site as a whole in (99% of cases atleast)

All we want is compromise.
I dont see a point in several of the rules, but can kind of see why they are there in some cases and have proposed changes to the rules which were logical and fair only to have them pretty much washed over along with suggestions from others aswell.

and this is speaking about the FS/FT rules as a whole.
Profiteering ok keep it. but ammend the rules for items which are classed as profiteereing, because some just dont belong.

For example bundle copy versions of games... which cant be sold, even if they are legitimatly bought second hand from say Game etc....
