1) Because we are all childish morons
2) Good point, but I think the mods do a good job on the for sale board. Sure sometimes rules are not stuck to, but theres very rarely any malice involved, and I think it works well
3) Because we are better than you*

*I actually think its because they know I don't get about infractions muchly. Seriously though... long term members really do get suspended and banned. I should know.

Why is it if i post a deal which is 'the cheapest price' should it turn into an off topic argument yet its allowed to go on? people will always have diff opinions about deals and as we live in a free country and have freedom of speech thats why it happens

Why is it members can get away with posting in the for sale/trade threads with no intention of buying? some people offer advice to the seller or the buyer sometimes

Why is it long standing members are exempt from the rules in which we all have to abide by? not seen this happen

For instance check my Bee Movie Blu Ray thread from a few weeks back (before all the blu ray deals), cheapest price but if you read the comments they are ridiculous and are not related to the deal itself?

Regarding long standing members i refer mostly to thread spoiling.

Some do offer advice but a hell of a lot more dont!!!!

This thread?
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/266767/ideal-xmas-present-bee-movie-blu-ra/showthread.php?t=266767
Well I had a look, expecting comments about bee-keeping, the time of day, the price of honey, how uncomfy Virgin plane seats are when you watch this film, showing at present on their trans-atlantic flights.
All I saw was someone asking what the movie was like!!
It seemed an OK thing to ask, to me. The argument, if it was one, came from your response to that question.

Why is it long standing members are exempt from the rules in which we all have to abide by?

I don't think that this is the case.

Why is it members can get away with posting in the for sale/trade threads with no intention of buying?

If you think that this is happening you should report the situation to col.

one thing that annoys me is people asking for things without saying please or thank you = the main example being xbox live codes. if you are getting something for free p's and q's are required.

All the things you are complaining about are things which require the user to report (http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/images/custom_buttons/report.gif) to moderators if there is a problem - have you actually reported the thread/post when you see these things happen, or are you just expecting someone else to do it? The mods don't have time to read every thread so rely on users to help them out!

If you have reported and nothing is done then I can understand why you would be frustrated but in my experience the mods are pretty good at dealing with reports :)

Just a few things i want to point out but ultimately the mods need to come down harder on 'thread spoiling' as they do sellers in particular.
Totally agree with you, however in order for the mods to do that they, like everyone else would have to put the comments into context of the thread in order to conclude whether the comment does constitute thread spoiling or an alternative interpretation of the thread topic.

I know before anyone says it.....if i dont like it, then leave....but heres my 2p worth:
nobody should tell you to leave, you've got as much right to be here as anybody else, whether your new or a seasoned member.

Why is it if i post a deal which is 'the cheapest price' should it turn into an off topic argument yet its allowed to go on?
The forum relies greatly on users to police other peoples posts, mods dont sit and read every post and thread, and relies on users to report posts/threads that are deemed unsuitable or in breach of forum rules. that way it brings it to mods attention to be dealt with.

Why is it members can get away with posting in the for sale/trade threads with no intention of buying?
Like other replies have stated. Its allowed where the thread can be of use to the OP, like supporting advice.

Why is it long standing members are exempt from the rules in which we all have to abide by?
Totally know what you mean by this, but honestly havent seen any blatant bias from mods towards seasoned users over new users.

Look forward to hearing some other members oppinions on the matter.
Hope so. If other peoples posts were as coherent and as polite as yours then it would make for a much better forum. Hope you stick with it.
